regardingyourchildsschoolandtoexplaintheprotocolformeasuringtheacademicperformanceof
NevadaPublicSchools.
TheNevadaSchoolPerformanceFramework(NSPF)isacriticalpartoftheEducationPerformance
SystemthatreplacesthemeasureofyearlyacademicperformancefromAdequateYearlyProgress
(AYP)withafivestarclassificationapproach.Forelementaryandmiddleschools,starratingsinthe
NSPFarebasedonstudentgrowth,proficiency,subgroupperformancegaps,andaveragedaily
attendance.Highschoolratingsarebasedonstudentproficiency,subgroupperformancegaps,
growth,graduationrates,careerandcollegereadiness,andotherindicators.TheNSPFwillprovideall
Nevadaschoolsanddistrictswithvaluableinformationtohelpdetermineifcurrenteducational
practicesarefocusedonthemosteffectiveeducationaloutcomesforstudents.
Inadditiontotheschoolsstarrating,schoolsmayalsoreceiveadesignationofFocus,Priority,or
Rewardwhichisbasedonlevelsofstudentproficiencyandacademicgrowth.Thedefinitionforeach
designationisasfollows:

greateradministrativecontroloveracademicprograms.

En junio 2015, al estado de Nevada se le concedi un Privilegio de Flexibilidad de la Ley de la Educacin

Primaria y Secundaria (ESEA por sus siglas en ingls). El propsito de esta carta es para informarle sobre
informacin importante referente a la escuela de sus hijos y para explicar el nuevo protocolo para medir el
rendimientoacadmicodelasEscuelasPblicasdeNevada.

ElMarcodeDesempeoEscolardeNevada(NSPFporsussiglaseningls)esunapartecrticadelSistemade
RendimientoEducativoquereemplazalamedidadelrendimientoacadmicoanual,ProgresoAnualAdecuado
(AYP por sus siglas en ingls) con el nuevo mtodo de clasificacin de cinco estrellas. Para las escuelas
primariasysecundarias,lasclasificacionesdeestrellasNSPFsonbasadasenelcrecimientoacadmico,aptitud
de la materia de estudio, rendimiento de brechas subdivididas, y el promedio diario de asistencia del
estudiante.LaclasificacindelaPreparatoriaesbasadaenlaaptituddelamateriadeestudio,rendimientode
brechas subdivididas, crecimiento acadmico, graduacin, preparacin para el colegio y una carrera, y otros
indicadores.LaNSPFproveeralosdistritosylasescuelasdeNevadaconinformacinvaliosaparadeterminar
silaspracticasactualesdeeducacin estnenfocadasenlosresultadosdeeducacinmsefectivosparalos
estudiantes.

En adicin a la clasificacin de cinco estrellas de las escuelas, tambin podrn recibir una designacin de
Enfoque,Prioridad,oRecompensabasadaenlosnivelesdeaptituddelestudianteycrecimientoacadmico.La

Lasescuelasdeenfoquepodrnrecibirnivelesdeapoyoaumentadosenlasreasdecapacitacinprofesional
con el objetivo de dirigirlas hacia las deficiencias acadmicas, entrenamiento y orientacin para maestros y
administradores, e incrementar una asistencia tcnica enfocada en reas especficamente identificadas con
necesidaddemejoramiento.

Escuela de Prioridad Puntaje al fondo del 5% en aptitud de la materia de estudio y el crecimiento

acadmico.Seesperaqueestasescuelasseleccioneneimplementenunodelosmodelosmejorados
