The Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity is proposing a speaker event on March 21, 2016 and we need
your assistance of $7000.
The 5 Ws Answered
Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Inc. is an international collegiate social fraternity founded January
5, 1911 on the campus of Indiana University. Achievement in every field of human endeavor is
what we strive for (Collegelink). We want our fellow classmates to succeed and realize the
dream of graduating college. We are proposing a motivational conference where we will bring in
guest speakers to ignite the passion that has burned out in all of us to continue our education and
achieve our goals. The conference will be held at the Veterans Pavilion at noon and will run till
about two in the afternoon on March 21, 2016.
Who are the speakers?
Our opening speaker will be David H. Solomon also known as Progress Junky. Here is some
information on him provided by GigSalad:
My name is David H. Solomon I am a 8.5 year Marine Corps war veteran. I have
attained my formal education after spending the majority of my youth serving my
country. Currently I possess my B.B.A in administration as well as my M.B.A in
administration. As of recently I am pursing my D.B.A in Leadership and Organizational
Leadership. I have owned 3 companies I have a passion for teaching people the
fundamentals of business, fitness and spiritual wholeness. I also spent 8 years in

counseling as a minister both nationally and internationally. I have spoken on multiple

platforms since the age of 14 and have continued to encourage and motivate people
especially young teens and troubled college students. My event planner can expect to see
change in his or her listeners within days of my speaking and I believe this is due to my
sense of humor and real life in-site. After surviving divorce and homelessness, I have
completed my advance degrees, written 1.5 books, began to day trade, filmed my first
lead role in a film that will be a sitcom on CBS/BET and launched another company. My
life is a story that is first authentic and encouraging and I have dedicated my existence to
building people and giving hope to those that need it and want it.
The other speaker would be Rabet Speaks and heres a short biography on him provided by
GigSalad:
Rabet is an entrepreneur, motivational speaker, life coach, youth mentor and author, who
is a natural leader with a gift for showing others how they can realize their goals. He
delivers high energy speeches with amazing results by applying fundamental principles of
self-awareness, discipline, and leadership to formulas for success.
What will take place?
This event will last two hours and Mr. Solomon will open for Rabet Speaks each providing
inspiring messages of motivation, success stories, and leadership qualities. To conclude the
event, both speakers will provide stand-up comedy and a question and answer sessions with the
audience while enjoying refreshments.
Funds Request
As stated earlier, we will rent out the Veterans Pavilion and supply a sound system which totals
$650 (Campus Reservations, n.d.). I am requesting lunch be provided by Classic Fare Catering
and every person attending will receive a Classic Boxed lunch valued at $8.99 per person
(Classic Fare Catering, n.d.). In total we are expecting about 100 students so the total for catering
would be $899. In order to request Mr. David Solomon and Rabet Speaks, it would be a total of
$2000. The total amount of funds requested will equal $3500.

Benefits
This event being held at Florida Gulf Coast University would give all students, especially those
who are shy, a chance to stand up, speak out and get involved in the University.
In addition, would provide Florida Gulf Coast University great exposure because both Mr.
Solomon and Rabet Speaks credentials speak volumes with having traveled throughout the
nation and internationally as well. This would encourage prospective students take a second look
at our university and likely spike attendance.
The great benefit of all to the Kappas Fraternity would be enjoying the atmosphere of the entire
student body and faculty all coming together as one to enjoy a common goal.

I am certain that our reasoning stated above have persuaded you to consider our recommendation
of this event for students. I would love to set up a meeting the Student Government Senate to
provide supplemental information on this proposal or answer any questions you may have at
