In this lesson, students will learn to demonstrate a proper way
to wash hands. Students will also learn how important it is to
our health and how it is a part of our daily lives. Students will
be able to tell us why it is important and how washing hands
plays a big role with hygiene.

Procedure

Class Session 1 (45mins):


1. Teacher will introduce the PowerPoint to students
beforehand
2. Teacher will line students up alphabetically to wash their
hands with warm water and soap
3. Students will have to use running water and scrub their
hands and under their fingernails as long as the music
plays for about 25 seconds
4. Lastly, students will rinse their hands and dry them with a
clean napkin
5. Students will return to their desk and will be given a sheet
of paper and pencil to list on their own and then discuss
with the class as to why it is important
6. Teacher will collect steps and inform students when to
wash hands and why it is important to keep our hands clean
Class Session 2 (45mins):
1. Teacher will introduce the requirements for the
movie making assignment
2. Secondly, students will be broken into groups of four
alphabetically. They each will then be assigned a
certain part in the movie making assignment.
3. Student #1 will be the researcher who gathers all the
information which becomes the context of the video.
4. Student #2 will be in charge of searching for the
background audio sound and photos of the correct
steps to hand washing.
5. Student #3 will be the video editor/producer who will
be in charge of putting together the final movie.
6. Lastly, student #4 will be the speaker, or presenter
who introduces the group before the final movie is
presented.
7. Finally, a guided how-to handout will be given to
each student accordingly to what role they play in the
group and their instructions in case of any questions
they may have.

Assessment

At the end of the assessment, each student will be graded


equally on the groups final work.
