By John Lennon
John Winston Lennon (9 October 1940 8 December 1980) was an English singer and
songwriter and a worldwide fame as a co-founder of the band The Beatles. But is not until
Lennon left the group that I started enjoying more his music.
I picked this song because it has a beautiful message. The lyrics reflect how a human being
should be treated and considered. A man, who recognized a woman like Lennon did in this song,
is someone special and kind. I really liked the poems that John Lennon made into songs
however; I never shared all his religion believes. His music has beautiful lyrics and rhythms that
show what a musical genius he was; almost all his songs in the 80s had a deep reflection about
life, love and peace in the world. These kinds of messages are something that we cannot find
now a day in many lyrics. Even though, woman is considered an old song it became a classic
and should be listened to by younger generations who most of the time are listening no sense
songs. These lyrics make people feel that a true love is still possible.
Woman I can hardly express
My mixed emotions at my thoughtlessness
After all Im forever in your debt

And woman I will try to express

My inner feelings and thankfulness
For showing me the meaning of success

This is an authentic ode to a woman. John Lennon dedicated this song to his wife, Yoko Ono, and
recognized how deep his feelings were for her and how this woman changed his life. He also
took the chance to apologize for the pain he could cause her during his marriage. Especially
during the time they were separated and he had another relationship during that period of time.
He felt thankful for having her in his life.

Now and forever
John Lennon quoted during his last interview with the Rolling Stones Magazine just days before
his death and said: Woman came about because, one sunny afternoon in Bermuda, it suddenly
hit me what women do for us. Since John Lennon left the Beatles and got married to Yoko Ono,
his life changed for good but so many times for bad. However he left a treasure to the world
through his music and the messages he left to the world.
Many people talked about John Lennon and how he impacted their lives. On December 8, 1980,
John Lennon was murdered outside of his New York apartment building by a deranged fan.
Three days before John Lennon was killed. His murder Jonathan Cott, spent hours interviewing

him for a planned cover story.

Bob Gruen was John Lennon photographer and was best known for his photograph of Lennon
wearing a New York City T-shirt.
Gruen said about Lennon: 'He was calmer and more focused than I had ever seen him,' He
befriended Lennon in what were to become his final years in New York. 'His whole thrust in life
was towards the notion of family, towards his wife, Yoko, and their son, Sean. That was the
message he was about to take to the world - that after all the questing for the big answers he had
found real peace and love at home.'
It is very relaxing and helpful for the soul to listen music with meaningful lyrics. The world is
full of no sense, wars, envy and hatred. People need to start listening, reading and singing about
something better full of hope and happiness. Woman is a good example of how a song can be a
fantastic way to apologize and change a relationship. This song has simple lyrics and a great
message of love.
