Annotated Bibliography: Abortion
Question: How can we prevent women from having abortion without violating personal choice?
Thesis: We can discourage women from having abortions by educating them and providing
positive and negative outcome examples from real women.

In this article, it is discussing the different types of procedures. In 2015, physicians have
established a waiting period for a woman to decide for abortion and the actual procedure. It also
talks about a womans health. The abortion law is only legal if a womans life or health is
threatened. The waiting period can help the woman to decide if she really sincerely wants to have
the abortion. The most abortion procedures that are done are called vacuum aspiration or suction
curettage. At one point, there was an act that was safer unless if the fetus is large. They called
this certain procedure dilation and evacuation. If the fetus was large they would destroy it in
order to bring it out.

In this article, it discusses the different types of abortions. In another words, this is called
medical abortion. They are using abortion pills for patients that do not want a traumatic death.
The pill, they say, is safe but to an extent. All medications have a risks. Also, this pill can have
many risks but they are rare. This abortion pill is accurate and effective. It is mostly effective, 97
out of 100 are. This medical abortion happens in two steps. The first step is by taking this

medication called mifepristone. This blocks the hormone progesterone. The second step is
another medication called misoprostol. This causes the uterus to empty.
