Cell Analogy Assignment

We are relating our cells to a sports team

Cells are the smallest units of life. All organisms have cells.

Parts of a Cell:
Organelles- Structures in cells that perform a certain function, a number of them are inside cells.
Organelles are like a sports team, all players have different positions to play in order to win.
Cell membrane- A controllable gateway that directs all cellular activities such as movement, growth and
other functions, the ref controls allowing subs to come on and off and when.
Cell wall- Frame of the cell, it is found in plants but not in animals and it provides strength. Also it
surrounds the cell membrane. It relates to a sports team by being the arena or gym for the sports team to
play in.
Cytoplasm- Kitchen of all cells. It contains the nutrients that can support life. It is liquid and has little bits
of grains in it. It is like water bottles, providing energy and hydration for the team as they play.
Chloroplast- The solar panels of the cells. Found only in plants to carry out photosynthesis. `The skin if
the players collects sun.
Nucleus- is a like the command centre that direct all active cells to go what they need to do. The
Nucleus is like a coach of the sports team. It is a fairly large dark sphere, structure thats usually at the
centre.
Vacuoles- which is a storage rooms where nutrients water or other substances can be stored. This can
relate to a sports bag or a locker room.
Mitochondria- The power house of the cell. Its like a score clock, saying the amount of time left and the
score.
