Consequences of Young Love
Romeo and Juliet is one of the best known plays about young love. So many decisions
are being made but not all lead to a happy ending. In the final scene of Shakespeare's play,
Romeo and Juliet, the foolishness of Romeo and Juliet is shown through their hasty decisions,
their disobedience, and their emotions.
So many decisions were put upon these two lovers. Earlier in the play Romeo was band
from Verona, and Juliet was going to have to marry Paris. Juliet makes a choice to take a potion
that makes her seem dead so that she doesn't have to marry Paris. Because of her quick to
decision to take that potion, Romeo appears at her tomb seeing her still lying on her grave
thinking she is dead and quickly takes the poison so that he can die next to his wife. Romeo did
not know that she wasn't really dead because the letter the Friar had sent to him was not
delivered. Juliet wakes up to find her husband dead next her. As the Friar is pleading for her to
get our and run away, Juliet tells the Friar to leave so that she can die with Romeo. Taking the
Romeo's dagger quickly, Juliet stabs herself in the chest because she would rather die than live
without her Romeo.
Another foolish act shown by Romeo and Juliet is their disobedience to their parents. In
the beginning of the play, Romeo and Juliet's families did not get along. Their parents strongly
disliked each other and had told Romeo and Juliet they were not allowed to see each other. But

of course the two were madly in love and would do anything to be together. Going against their
parents Romeo and Juliet would sneak around to be able to see each other. Soon the parents of
Juliet found them and banded Romeo from Verona. Now Juliet couldn't see Romeo in Verona
anymore because if he would to be caught he would be put to death.
Romeo and Juliet are famous for being young star crossed lovers. Knowing they weren't
allowed to be with each other didn't stop them from being madly in love. Romeo as he entered
her tomb was attacked by Paris, who was suppose to be Juliet's future husband. Romeo ends up
killing Paris but doesn't really care because he is so filled with grief at the thought of his wife
being dead. When Juliet awakes to find Romeo lying next to her dead, she is overcome with
sadness that she killed herself because she didn't want to live without Romeo.
Through this story are many life lessons. As Romeo and Juliet were so overwhelmed with
love for each other, they acted very foolish in many ways. Young love can be very sweet and
sincere but being so young and making choices that adults make can come with many
consequences. Think before making choices because the choices made whether it's good or bad
will come with a consequence in the end.
