What licensure is needed to be a

teacher in Afghanistan?

Most women in Afghanistan only have schooling up to the 10th

grade.
The only schooling/training they get to become a teacher is the
5 session training
Said by a second grade teacher in Afghanistan, When I
started my teaching job, I knew nothing about the profession,
says Toorpaikai Roshangar, a second-grade teacher at Lamia-iShaheed girls school in Kabul. Over the past five years, Ms.
Roshangar has taken part in five training sessions supported by
UNICEF and the Ministry of Education. The sessions have
focused on textbook orientation, child development, classroom
management skills and child-centered teaching.

Are Teachers Safe in

Afghanistan?

The security is uneven throughout the whole country

Said by an Afghanistan teacher, The real dilemma

facing the teachers of Afghanistan has little to do with
students and supplies or with issues such as salary,
work hours and equipment. Death threats that come in
the form of letters from the Taliban dropped on their
doorsteps while they sleep letters that warn them to
stay away from the schools, to stop teaching or face the
consequences. Teachers are not welcomed in most
places in Afghanistan.
