Global Warming, or Global Artificial Flavor
Global warming is a controversial topic in which the general public have fiery,
amoral opinions, and the evidence supporting either side is a little lacking. The
dichotomy is relatively basic, either global warming is real and we're all dead in 20
years, or global warming is a hoax and we'll probably be fine in 20 years. News
outlets are always putting out exaggerated information to catch the attention of
readers, and those who read that information might not be taking it with a grain of
salt. Whether the info is incomplete, false, or reworded in a sly way, people are
being presented false data and getting the wrong ideas about global warming. As
for evidence supporting either side of the argument, everything seems like
scientists arent quite sure about their conclusions. The general publics static view
of humans destroying the Earth is a bit far out, but not entirely incorrect either. The
world needs to be re-educated on their global warming facts so we can focus on
more important issues, rather than prioritizing something less important than other
ongoing events on Earth.
For starters, a lot of the facts people put out there involving global warming
are simply not true, for example, people's view on Earth's rising temperatures.
Apparently humans and global warming are making our planet hotter, but in reality,
science has proven that the temperatures on Earth are rising no quicker or slower

than they were 2000 years ago. Even without information from 2000 years ago,
graphs from 1910 up to present day show that the rising temperatures aren't even
consistent, and as of the past 12 years, Earth has actually been cooling down.
There has now been over 18 years with no measurable atmospheric global
warming and a slight cooling in the past 12 years. (isthereglobalcooling.com)
(quote). Some scientists even say that temperature differences over the years were
more extreme hundreds of years ago than they are today. Another thing that tips
people off to the idea of global warming is the melting of the ice caps. Rising
temperatures, less ice, right? Nope. Since 2012, arctic ice percentages are up by
50%, which is yet another scientific fact that shoots down global warming.
Lets look at some more evidence. The global sea level has gone up nearly 7
inches in the last century. (climate.nasa.gov)(paraphrase). It is factual information
that the seas have been rising since about 1950. Around this time was America's
industrialization, as well as a couple large wars, which would clue that these caused
and still are causes of global warming. If we look at things on a bigger scale than
just what humans are doing, it's clear that parts of Earth have a lot of ice. With ice
formation being up 50%, this extra ice could be whats pushing water levels up. This
can be easily illustrated by filling a glass of water with no ice, recording the level,
and then adding ice. The water level will be noticeably higher. Obviously there is
much more to Earth that's contributing to the changes in sea levels, but for
beginning a stand against global warming being the cause, chunks of ice bigger
than most boats is a great start.
In conclusion, global warming is a very blown up topic in which people are
cajoled into believing false information. As our capabilities in the science field grow,
we can learn more about events that we refer to as global warming, such as rising

temperatures or destruction of the o zone. Recent discoveries have shown us that a

few things about global warming are true, and a lot more than a few are false.
Humanity's ignorance to the new information is just causing arguments to rage on
even though they are hardly valid anymore. If we could release more factual
information to the public, maybe people's views on the topic would be more correct,
or at least a little less extreme. We could all relax amongst our facts; no crazy
conspirators disproving you left and right with bombast words lacking logic, and no
more know-it-all's trying to outsmart you with animosity towards anything you say.
Just peace.
