Learning characteristics of the student for whom this
curriculum would be age and learning appropriate: The
curriculum addresses learning social skills for home, school, work and
community. It is aimed for students in grades 6-12. There are over 27
skills that the book covers which can be useful for a large range of
students including students with learning disabilities to students with
mild cognitive impairments.
Social Skills Activities for Secondary Students with Special
Needs addresses the following transition needs: Students will
learn social skills necessary for success in school and in life after
school. It helps students put into practice ways to behave among
others in different social situations ranging from interpreting other
people feelings by their actions/body language to how to effectively
communicate with your supervisor.
Other features of Social Skills Activities for Secondary
Students with Special Needs: At the beginning of each chapter,
there are ten helpful tips for teachers that help solidify these social
