Name reading and math scores indicate that Name may struggle with the academics in
either program. Name struggled with some of the multi-step math problems and
measurement. In the Construction Pathway, Name will be expected to have an
understanding of measurement skills, fractions and decimals. In the Transportation
Pathway Name will have the expectation to complete weekly workbook assignments and
daily time cards.

CTC Vocational Assessment Guide


Process
The Vocational Assessment process begins in the ninth grade for most students. This
includes a visitation day where students will take a limited tour of programs that match
their EDP pathway and vocational interest. Students also participate in work samples as
described with the colored testing groups below.
At the beginning of tenth grade, students observe in three programs for a half hour each
based on the results of the work samples and their interest. After
the observation, students express their first and second program preferences/choices.

Report Descriptions
Colored Testing Groups include the following career pathways:

Green: Engineering, Manufacturing, and Industrial Technology

Yellow: Arts & Communications, Business Management, Marketing


& Technology, and Natural Resources & Agriculture

Blue:

Health Services, Human Services, and Natural Resources &


Agriculture

Reading and Math Scores are based on a 10 question test developed to focus
on academic skills specific to each pathway of interest.
Hands on Scores are based on work samples designed to assess fine motor, following
directions, and measurement skills appropriate to each pathway of interest.
First and Second Program Preferences represent the students enrollment interest after
the 30 minute program observation in the fall of 2009.
