In-between school years I work as member of a fuels team. Our
primary duties were to collect biodiversity data on different grass,
forbs, and shrubs species in post fire rehabbed area. We used different
survey methods for monitoring density and cover of forbs and grasses.
Along with grass and forbs shrub density was monitored by doing belt
transects. Bimonthly, we were also responsible for collecting fuel
moistures and submitting it to the district for fire planning. My
secondary duties were to help in fire suppression by preforming task
such as line digging, engine crew tactics, and other duties as assigned
by superiors.
