CourseOverview
TheRAPcurriculumisdesignedtosupportstudentgrowthincriticalacademicskillsaswellasmasteryof
coreclasscontent.Studentswillgraduallytakeonmoreindependenceastheymeetbenchmarksleadingto
fourmajorlearningoutcomes:
Thestudentwillutilizetimeandmanageworkloadefficiently.
Thestudentwillsetgoalswithtangibleandintangiblesuccesscriteria,effectivelybalancingshort
andlongtermgoals.
Thestudentwillidentify,define,prioritize,andcompletetaskswithoutdirectoversight.
Thestudentwillreflectcriticallyonpastperformanceinordertogainexpertiseinacademicskills
necessaryfortheachievementofpostsecondarygoals.

Studentswillapplynewskillsrelatedtotheselearningoutcomesinordertomasterthecontentfromtheir
math,science,historyandEnglishcoursesduringpreteachingandreteachingactivitiesinRAP.

ClassroomExpectations
Studentswilldemonstrateacademicengagementatalltimesbytakingtheirassignedseatbeforethestartof
classandbringingallnecessaryacademicmaterialsondailybasis,includingafullychargedlaptop.
Studentswillusetheirtimeproductivelyandonlyaccesselectronicdevicesforapprovedacademic
activities.Studentswillspeakrespectfullytopeersandadults,andremainseateduntildismissedbytheir
teacher.

Otherimportantclassguidelines
Nohallpassesaregrantedinthefirstorfinal15minutesofclass.
Permissiontoconsumefoodandnonwaterbeveragesisgrantedandrescindedonanindividual
basisatthediscretionoftheteacher.
Studentswillspendaminimumof45minutespernightcompletinghomeworkassignmentsand
studying/practicingskillsrelatedthiscourse.
Violationsofclassexpectationsandprocedures,includingalltardiness,willresultinassignmentto
RAPDetentiononthesamedayastheinfraction.IftheviolationtakesplaceonaFriday,RAP
DetentionwillbeservedduringSaturdayLearningAcademy.
