I will be teaching the students the basics of the colors by
Overview/Rational using the color wheel.

wheel

together to get other colors
The students will be able to create a graphic, with
assistance, using the Kidspiration software

I will be showing the students a PowerPoint presentation. The


technologies I will be using are:
a computer
a projector
a projector screen
I will be showing the students how to use a software program
called Kidspiration.

Number stencils
Flower stencils
Kidspiration software

1st lesson- Primary colors


The students will watch and participate in a short
PowerPoint presentation about primary colors.
After learning about the primary colors, the students will
create different shapes with paint, in primary colors
only.

2 lesson- Complementary colors
The students will watch and participate in a short
PowerPoint presentation about complementary colors.
After learning about the complementary colors, the
students will color already stenciled numbers with
markers, in complementary colors only.

3 lesson- The color wheel
The students will watch and participate in a short
PowerPoint presentation about the color wheel.
After learning about the color wheel, the students will
create their own color wheel, in the shape of a clock,
using the paper plates and tissue paper.

4 lesson- Mixing colors
The students will watch and participate in a short
PowerPoint presentation about mixing colors.
After learning about mixing colors, the students will
paint already stenciled flowers using colors theyve
mixed themselves.

5 lesson- Kidspiration
The students will watch and participate in a short
demonstration about creating a Kidspiration graphic.
After learning about Kidspiration, and with guidance,
the students will create their own Kidspiration graphic.

Assessment

The students will create a Kidspiration graphic about


the following topics:
o Primary Colors
o Complementary Colors
o Secondary Colors
o Mixing Colors

By raising their hands, the students will answer


questions that may be asked during the PowerPoint
presentation.
The students will have homework geared toward the
lessons that were taught in the classroom.
The students will be assessed by the Kidspiration
graphic they create.
