Agriculture knowledge centre launched

As part of Prime Ministers vision to transform the country into a digitally-empowered knowledge economy, eFresh
portal has developed an Agriculture Knowledge Dissemination Center (AKDC) for the benefit of various stake
holders, primary agricultural cooperative societies, producer group organisations, commercial & cooperative
banks, and other agricultural institutions.
The first centre has been inaugurated by Ajoy Naqib, GM (Priority Sector, Rural Banking & FI) of State Bank of
Hyderabad (SBH) in Secunderabad on Friday. This centre provides people with knowledge and electronic
connectivity in agriculture domain, empowering and enabling the farming community through the use of digital
technology.
Indian Banks' Associations (IBA) Standing Committee on Agro Business and MSME said, "The eFresh portal being
multilingual will benefit the young farmers regarding latest developments in agriculture as well as demand-supply
of agricultural produce for deciding the crops one can raise." The IBA also suggested eFresh to approach
interested banks for connectivity.
Srihari Kotela, managing director of eFresh said, The company has been working in this direction as a one stop
source of knowledge and a market place for all agricultural needs, supported by National Bank for Agriculture and
Rural Development (NABARD) and National Horticulture Mission, Government of India.
