Kielende 1 Name: Treacy Kielende Isungu Prof: Altman English 104 la “What You Eat Is Your Business” Oct 26", 2015 Dear Radiey Balko, {read your article, “What You Eat Is Your Business”, and it was a very interesting reading because I learn a lot of from it. For an example regarding how the federal government, states legislature and school board are fighting to low the percentage of obesity in United States of America by voting laws against all those foods industries that produce a high-calorie foods with the “fat tax” and banning snack, soda and vending machine in school campuses. Which | did not know about. | also agreed with the point you made that people in America shall take responsibility and ownership of their own health and well-being, The fact they are not taking food, it starter to affect other citizens by the raise of health care insurance. As a foreign student, when | came to The United States of America, | was surprised to see how so many people in U.S have obesity problem. | have an idea why but | always thought that all the documentaries | used to watch back home, Democratic Republic of Congo, were false the fact they were produces by French producer, because French people like to exaggerated about everything and like to perfect in everything. But | was chock myself when my brother's friend Kielende 2 and | went to a fast food here in America, MC Donald, to get something to eat and | saw a little girl who was about eleven years -old, twice my seize eating a big- mac combo with 12 piece of chicken nuggets with a large seize of soda. when |, twenty years-old male, could not finish a big =mac combo. The one thought that came to my mind that day was how a parents could let their eleven years old daughter eating so much junk foods but the reason was both parents were overweight as well. The point | am making is although the federal government, states legislature and school board do everything they can to reduce the obesity problem, as long as those people will continue to consume those junk foods and will not have a conscience to say | have to stop eating junk foods, American will always have obesity problem. And the health care insurances will continues to charge them with a higher premiums. | look forward to for your reply and your point of view on my thought. Sincerely. Treacy Kielende Isungu
