LIFE, LEMONS, & FEMINISM

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Objective
The goal of Life, Lemons, & Feminism is to educate young adults on what feminism is and how to use it to better
help their lives as well as their peers lives through mentoring that will motivate, improve self-esteem, and providing
a productive environment in order to shape them into forward and successful adults.

Goals
1. To provide young adults with support and resources to better their education.
2. To improve academic performance .
3. To give our Mentees better self-esteem.
4. To educate them on other at risk young adults.
5. To derail societal norm and better develop the mentees knowledge on ways to better their approaches.
6. To detach negative stigmas associated with mental disorders, masculinity, and feminism.

Solution
Love Laugh Live is a local mentoring program that deals with mentoring, mental health disorders, and bully
prevention. I wish to branch off with something very similar, but gear it towards high school and college students. I
feel that they are the ones at most risk when it comes to societal implications and stigmas. They are more likely to
try and copy with societal norms and associate others and peers with negative stigmas. I want to raise enough
money to donate a portion to Love Laugh Live and a portion to hold small workshops on local high schools and
UNC-Charlotte that will slowly, but surely relief many students of pressure and/or negative stigmas.

LIFE, LEMONS, & FEMINISM

Project Outline
As my organization will be Life, Lemons, and Feminism, next semester we will be going in to warmer weather and
with that being said, I want to set up a lemonade stand and raise awareness and donations via selling lemonade.
All items will be donated by community members and/or local restaurants that I have and are associated with.
Jim Noble, the owner/ operator of noble restaurants has helped with numerous fundraisers through charlotte
that deal with mental illness.
The stand will be so graciously made by a fellow contractor friend of mine and myself.
I will be running the stands with the help of friends and family volunteering.
I know many members of CMS that would like to have a mentoring program or workshop in their school, but
cannot afford or do not have an adequate number of volunteers to do. I have invested some time in
investigating with tim some at risk schools. Many of them will be assisting with brochures and other handouts to
be given out at the workshops and have looked into a mentoring program.
Barry Blair, Principal at NorthWest Middle School in Charlotte, NC.
Kenitra Jordan, English Department director and teacher for Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools.
Kate Phifer, Teacher at the Performance Learning Center in Charlotte, NC.
Meghan Ross, an Exceptional Childrens teacher in CMS
Brian Freeman, recipient of the Teacher of the year award in 20009, a great mentor and teacher in CMS.
Sara Ward, my mentor and a social worker, works for Childrens Legal Defense Team in Charlotte, will also be
assisting with materials and has assisted many teenage juvenile programs. She has been looking for a program
to present her team as an alternative for Juvenile Youths.
There is a possibility with the right materials and guidance this program could help a lot more youths and young
adults than intended.
