Overview

Fab lab program is worldwide collaborative network which provides students and
researchers the opportunity to make use of modern fabrication facilities to
complete jobs and projects. Fab labs initially started as an outreach project from
MIT's (Massachusetts institute of technology) Center for Bits and Atoms and later
the idea spread worldwide. The Fab lab in Kuwait is located at Qadisiya, Kuwait. The
lab capabilities included 3d printing, CNC milling, circuit production, Laser
cutting/engraving, precision milling and vinyl plotters.
During the Fab lab training session as part of ME-417 Control requirements the
following outcomes were achieved:

Hands on experience on CNC machine programming and execution.


Attend demonstration regarding laser cutting machine
Attending tutorial on PID control program

The Fab lab sessions were highly informative and provided insight into the latest
methods of Fabrication and control. The staff of the Fab Lab Kuwait were very
cooperative and helpful in providing information and guidance.
