SANDWICH TOWN TEAM update Town Team Review for Sandwich Town Council: November 2015 . Sandwich Traffic Forum, 6/11; This was chaired by Craig Mackinlay MP. Multiple expressions of support were made for the Working Party’s progress and outputs, with many key figures saying now is the time to act. » . DDC Parking Survey: Town Team reps met with Cllr Miller and others. The resulting jointly- agreed communication was duly sent to DDC. . Core Town Team election: At their AGM on 16/11, the following were elected or re-elected as office-holders on the core team: Richard Ralph (Chair), Carole George (secretary), M J Holloway (political liaison), Howard Norton (PR & communications), Tony McCully (Coastal Team Liaison). STC continues to be represented by Cllr Mark Moorhouse, Clir M J Holloway and (by standing invitation) Mayor Paul Graeme. 4, Business community reps: A follow-up round of consultation is planned shortly on traffic strategy. 5. KCC Highways Depot, Ash Road Led by Craig Mackinlay MP, a constructive meeting was held involving Paul Watkins (DDC Leader), Mayor Paul Graeme, Clir M J Holloway, KCC Leader Paul Carter and Rebecca Spore (KCC Director Infrastructure). A further meeting is scheduled for early January. 6. White Paper: Following the Traffic Forum, the modified Green Paper proposals were converted into a White Paper recommending implementation in two phases. It was put before the Town Council on 30/11. 7. Town Council Meeting, 30/11: The Council session was preceded by a preparatory meeting between Town Team, Councillors and Tim Middleton of KCC on the subject of the White Paper. At the session proper, the Council made a near-unanimous resolution to fully fund Phase 1 and the consultancy for Phase 2, out of Section 106 funds. The Town Team would like to place on record its warm thanks, 8. Lobbying: Lobbying of Joint Transportation Board members has taken place in preparation for the meeting on 10/12, when JTB ratification will be sought for the White Paper.
