My daily work consists of doing surgical
procedures such as prostatectomy, laparotomy, resection anastomosis of
intestines, appendectomy. Herniorraphy, surgery of the skin including removal of

tumors(benign or malignant), skin grafting, surgery of the broken bones( such as

ORIF, or external fixation, POP techniques), surgery of the breast ( removal of a
lump, or mastectomy), surgery of the thyroid gland(partial or total removal), minor
surgery procedures,
I also run 3 surgical clinics. On Mondays and Wednesdays I see patients in
outpatient department who have various surgical conditions. It is also my time to
review patients who have been operated and need dressing of their wounds, or
have some complications related to the surgery. I go also outside the hospital
twice in a month to see those operated patients who are coming far from the
hospital and others who have various surgical conditions . I also teach medical
students during ward rounds. We have Medical officer interns, clinical officer interns,
and a nursing school.
