Pediatric Dentistry Competency 2010

• Groups will be divided according to ID number.

• 14 members per group:

o Group A = Tae  Jue

o Group B = Wei  Pear (Romchat)

o Group C = Pum  Tom (Norrapon)

o Group D = Pear (Natcha)  P’Kaew

• The lab exam that each group will be doing is listed in the “Pediatric
Dentistry Competency Schedule”.

o For Wednesday’s morning session:

 Group A = Treatment Plan

 Group B = Amalgam Class II Back to Back

 Group C = SSC

 Group D = Composite Class II & Oral Hygiene


Instruction *

• * Whichever group that does “Composite Class II &


Oral Hygiene Instruction” will be divided into 2 sub-
groups of 7 and each small group will do one
particular lab. After 1.5 hours, the two sub-groups will
switch.

o For the afternoon session, the groups will switch (A does


Amalgam Class II Back to Back, B does SSC, etc)

• When switching between stations, bring your locker with you. You
will NOT be using your own simulator.

• For OHI lab, Aj. Thanit said to read from the following sources:

o “Mechanical and Chemotherapeutic Home Oral Hygiene” sheet

o Pinkham’s “Pediatric Dentistry” Textbook (“Home Care” section in


the “Prevention of Dental Disease” chapters)
o Aj. Vorachon’s “Anticipatory Guidance & Preventive Dentistry”
lecture

• Reminder:

o Bring #84 & #85 teeth that have amalgam restoration on it for
SSC lab.

o Arrive at 8:30 AM to receive equipment from the stock room.

o Lab manual is NOT allowed into the lab exam.

o The score outline for each lab IS allowed into the lab exam.

o If you do not pass one particular lab exam, you must do a re-
examination on Friday afternoon (1 – 4 PM) after the lecture
exam (9 – 11 AM).
