Womens Civil Rights in Afghanistan
Women do not have any rights in Afghanistan, and parents of the women make their
decisions for their child. They cannot have any say in their lives. Afghanistan needs to give
women their civil rights, and stop making women marry people men they dont want to marry,
and stop younger women marrying older men. Younger women want to have their own marriage
rights. It is not fair for Rukhshana, and what if Rukhshana is not ready to get married at all.
No one can say that women have rights in Afghanistan. When Rukhshana was a child,
she was engaged to a different and much older man; she disagreed with the Union and ran
away with a man named Mr.Gul (Rod Nordland and Jawad Sukhanyar). This proves that
women do not have civil rights, because women dont even have a way to make their own
decisions in who they want to marry. Women already have their lives planned out without asking
for the kids approval. This could have been solved if the Taliban religion can have a better way
of punishing the girls and letting them have their own way of wanting to live their lives.
Women are getting stoned to death and lashed for committing adultery. Women are
getting brutal punishment for committing adultery. Religious fighters forced a 19-year-old to the
dug pit and put her to death of adultery (Rod Nordland and Jawad Sukhanyar). This stoning
idea is cruel to humans. They should not give a cruel punishment of being stoned to death. No
one deserves to be stoned to death exactly for adultery. Women cannot even get away from
their husband.
Women try to leave their husbands for a good reason. Women are illegally forced to
marry men, and thats the reason they leave their husband. The govern of Ghor Province,

Seema Joyenda, said that Rukhshana left her husband, only because she was illegally forced to
marry a man she didnt want to marry in the first place. If women did not have to be forced to
marry a man that they did not want to marry in the first place they would not leave the man.
They should just let women marry who they want to marry and stop choosing their lives for
them; it is only making it worse for women in Afghanistan.
Women have it so bad that people accuse them for something they did not do. It is
all because of a he said she said situation. Women are getting injured because of something
someone said they did, and they did not even do it. A 15-year-old girl was lashed 101 times
after she was blamed of having sex with a nearby tailor, all because she was seen with him in
his shop for a few minutes. Do you think it is right for someone to say someone did something
that they didnt do? It is cruel how someone can say something that is not true and put someone
else in pain or maybe even death.
Some of the presidential leaders believe that its okay to throw rocks or beat
people for committing adultery. Pro-govt Mullan of the country of Afghanistan believes that
throwing rocks and beating of adultery is perfectly done. The presidential leader Mullan doesnt
see a problem with hurting people and lashing people for committing adultery. Why do these
leaders think it is okay to lynch people or lash them for these harmless things? These leaders
dont see what is wrong with harming people, and it is cruel how they dont see it.
It is frustrating hearing about womens civil rights in Afghanistan. During the
time where women get stoned they have to go to a dug pit. While Rukhshana was getting
stoned in the dug pit, Rukhshana was crying out to god, and she was saying Dear God. She
was so upset and she was crying out loud, and the men that were stoning her were just letting it
happen. This was a very sad and upsetting thing to hear, and it felt like these men did not care
about these women getting stoned.
The Taliban people were on video during the stoning of Rukhshana. The video
was taken and Rukhshana was heard crying, over and over again, you could hear her say Dear

God. People were throwing rocks at this woman while she is getting rocks thrown at her head
from close range. The people who were throwing the rocks at the Rukhshana were men, they
were dressed in Taliban-style black Turban. How can people sit there and hear someone crying
and calling out for god and still be throwing rocks.
The government for Afghanistan believes it is okay to harm someone over a little
crime such as committing adultery. The Taliban men are fine with stoning or lashing someone
over committing adultery. The governor of Afghanistan said if a woman is married and she
commits adultery, she will have to be stoned. So basically what he is saying is, a women cheats
and shes married she will get stoned to death. This theory isnt a good theory; its basically
committing a crime for women.
In Afghanistan anti-violence laws are simply ignored in Afghanistan, so why are they
stoning women and lashing them if they have an anti-violence law, because there isnt an antiviolence country. Rukhshana was the woman that was getting whipped. Rukhshana was left
permanently disabled from hip injuries cause by lashes from the men that lashed her. So there
wasnt a court to decide what was going to happen (Member of Parliament from ghor). They
easily hurt the girl with stones and whipped her badly. So thats not an anti-violence thing, if they
are brutally hurting people.
The government needs to give women their rights in Afghanistan, and stop abusing
them for something someone is making them do. The Govern should let women make their own
decisions, and let them choose their husbands. Let them have a teenage life and a young adult
life. Women need their rights too, because women are also human too. Stop forcing women to
marry men that they did not want to marry, and also let them get older so they can marry at a
reasonable age, and learn more about life before marriage. Women should get the option to
choose to marry when they are ready at any time, so we do not have any other killing ratios in
Afghanistan. Also so women do not run away from the people there force to marry. It will make it
a lot better for Afghanistan.

I picked this topic because women should have equal rights. I found it interesting
because it was fun learning about how other countries deal with their problems. I have always
wanted to know about the life in Afghanistan. I would always watch movies that had to deal with
the country Afghanistan, and I loved those movies. They were mainly about wars in Afghanistan.
The thing with me I believe that everyone should have equal rights. They also should be
punished cruel for what they have done, so thats why I had an awesome time making this
paper. The country isnt that big but there is a whole lot of things going on in this country.
I had a mixer of both a struggle and a success in this paper, but thats why it was so
interesting and fun to write about Afghanistan. The struggles I had were with the note card
process, and the start of my paper. I also had some success in this paper. The successes I has
was after I had got the hung of it I knew where to put the information. I had a fun experience
with this paper, I had learned a lot about my topic. This was an interesting paper.
