In this report I learned about how the SS (Schutzstaffel) quickly and effectivly
executed Jew and others at Auschwitz by using gas chambers. This source helped me
understand the process of execution for prisoners in Auschwitz.

This was a useful letter because it showed the estimated number of corpses that
can be disposed of in the crematoriums each time. It assisted me in understanding the
large amount of prisoners that could be disposed in a short time.

This statement helped explain how they gassed the prisoners at Auschwitz. From
this source I now know what type of gas they used to quickly exterminate prisoners.

I learned that the German prisoners were unaware of where they were going. This
was helpful as it showed what the prisoners thought was going to happen to them and
how the Germans disguised their intentions from them.

From this picture I learned that there was a huge amount of prisoners ready for
selection. This source was used to help me understand the tremendous amount of Jews
and others who were transported to Auschwitz.

I learned about the conditions people lived in and how little food they had. This
source made me more aware of what the prisoners had to experience and how cruel the

This source gave me inside information on life inside Auschwitz. It helped me
understand the conditions they lived in and every day life inside the camp.

This report provided eyewitness accounts on what was going on inside the camps.
From this information I now better understand how prisoners were treated .

This testimony was from someone who experienced Auschwitz. It helped provide a
first-hand account on what went on inside the camp.

Dr.Mengele looked like.

In this photograph it shows women survivors huddled in the barracks after Soviet
troops liberated Auschwitz. It gives a good example of how crowded the barracks are
and what happened after the liberation.

This picture is of child survivors of Auschwitz after liberation. This shows the few
amount of children who survived.

This photograph is off bales of hay from female prisoners labeled for shipment
found after the liberation of Auschwitz. This helps me understand that the Nazi shaved
everyones hair off and was going to sell it for profit.

This is a photo of a huge pile of eyeglasses found in one of the warehouses at
Auschwitz after its liberation. I learned from it that the Nazi took the huge amount of
prisoners personal belongings and stored them.

In this image it shows the corpses of prisoners overflowing the shed. I can learn
from this that before the evacuation of Auschwitz many people were murdered and they
did not have enough time to destroy the corpses.

This is a photo of one of the gas chambers used in Auschwitz. This photo gives
me and idea of what the gas chambers looked like inside.

In this photograph it shows the main entrance of Auschwitz. On the gate the
words translate to Work makes you free. This shows that the prisoners are going to
have to endure a lot of labor.

This is a photo of the inside of one of the barracks in Auschwitz. I can learn from
it that the beds were tightly squeezed together with one on top of each other. This shows
that their living quarters were extremely cramped.

The prisoners had to endure many long hours of labor and lived in a terrible state, so
