GUIDELINES
1. Access

Free access to all students (members and non-members) from

4pm to 6pm on working days.
IEDC Members can apply for permission to access the Space at
any time, from the Maker Space Coordinators, who will allocate a
time slot as per the availability.
Any Maker making use of the MS must furnish their details in the
Maker Space Register, along with time of entry and exit.

2. Usage

Makers may make use of the Makers Tools by filling out a

Borrowers Form and submitting it to the MS Coordinator, who
would provide you the required tools as per the availability. The
borrowed Tools must be returned to the MS Coordinator before
leaving the Space.
Makers may make use of the Tools for their purpose within the
MS only. No Tool may be taken outside the MS without the
consent of the Coordinator and CTO.
The Tools may be used only under the supervision of the MS
Coordinator (or another person temporarily appointed by him).
Any Tool/Accessories, if damaged, must be replaced within 10
days by the Maker responsible, as per the conditions specified in
the Borrowers Form.

THE MAKER SPACE COORDINATOR

The Maker Space Coordinator is answerable to the IEDC Body of Governors as well
as the Executive Board.

The MS Coordinator will be present in the MS, whenever it is being used. If

unable, he may assign an eligible Temporary Coordinator, with the consent of
the CTO.

If requested by an IEDC Member, the Coordinator will allocate a time slot for
using the MS as per its availability, ensuring that the regular functioning of
the Fab Lab and the Workshops is not disturbed.
The Coordinator ensures that the details of the Makers using the MS are
noted in the Register, along with the time of entry and exit.
The Coordinator supervises and provides the necessary assistance to the
Maker in his work, and in the usage of the Tools. If unable to do so, he
temporarily assigns someone (student or college staff), well-versed in the
area for serving the purpose.
The Coordinator is responsible for the safekeeping, lending, monitoring,
damage-inspection and returning of the Makers Tools.
The Coordinator is responsible for maintaining the Borrowers Form.
The Borrowers Form:
o The MS Coordinator keeps the Forms.
o Any Maker wishing to borrow a Makers Tool/Accessorie must fill
in the Form, specifying the Tools/Accessories required, and
submit to the MS Coordinator.
o The MS Coordinator keeps the filled Form with him until the
Maker returns the Tools/Accessories borrowed.
o On the return of the Tools/Accessories, the coordinator inspects
them. He signs the Form once Tools are returned undamaged.
o The filled Forms are handed over to the CTO.
If a Tool is damaged while being used by a Maker, the Coordinator ensures
that the Maker replaces the same Tool within 10 days.
