Its time....
- time to ignore the question in my head, am
I still up for this?
- time for a laugh with my mates
- time to tell Bolty and Vlad I might need a
bigger shirt
- time to play one more quality
touch...move...game (or at least see one!)
- time to question why Trev writes the
newsletter
- time to live a little footy - for me, for the
family, team and supporters
- time to bounce (crawl) out the door and
get to training
- time to chase one more big win
Each year presents a new challenge when playing
football - 2014 is also guaranteed to do that!....new
teams, younger opponents, older legs but we all know
that we have a team of top blokes (we tell ourselves

almost every week!) who will work with and for each
other time after time.
Whilst general predictions are easy....what about
some that are a little more specific because after all,
last year I did tip everybody into the dark horse for
Player of the Season - Jaime.
So here we go;
....Nolan will pull o some of the most cracking
saves...so long as we dont play at night and he
doesnt forget his contacts (Jaime can you bring some
spare) Bunny be ready.
....Dame and Fewelly will destroy and dominate
striker after striker....and somehow convince referees
they are trying to fly when their elbows start
flapping?!
....Donny is this years tip for Player of the
Season....just needs a wee bit of luck with injuries.
The team of top blokes will carry him through
when needed and at times he will carry the team
with rock solid defence, massive workrate and silky
passing (the man crush might be back on!)

....Dan, Doz and Naya will also be matchwinners it is guaranteed they will all produce many jaw
dropping moments...just well all pretend theyre no
big deal (just to help keep their egos in check!)
....Vic will again go under the radar for the weekly
Match of the Man awards - probably scoring hat
tricks, winning pens and laying on goals...just dont
vote for him its bad luck.
....Adam will play every position except striker and
goalkeeper, running around like a tri-athlete. I think
he learns this chasing the kids at home? Maybe he
should play a game in goals, just to watch the hamster
in the wheel moment when he cant leave the box!
....Jez, Bunny and Noons will will play football
with the perfect mix of old and new school - they will
win some of the hardest ball old school style and then
play some new age passing and dribbling...hippies
wearing steel caps!
...Bold prediction for Jez.....he may go skiing!
...Bunny will also be watching out for the next
recruit for the FB...hopefully there arent too many
options.
....Alecs will continue to be one the greatest
screening midfielders we have seen - hard, smart and
fit! His positioning and passing influences the shape
of the team....and his partying also influences the
shape of the team!
...Doriano will not be happy I didnt write one just
about him and that he had to share with Dan and
Naya - is a genius though and probably deserves
another mention!
...Jaime will score and create more than last season
and wonder why he didnt win the player of the
season award again - then hell thumb his nose when
Donny gets called up.
...Rich will finally start the bike! He will also get a
little cranky I mentioned the bike and show me by
using the move to beat 3 players, shoot from the
byline and score a crossbar shattering goal or two!
....Bolty and Vlad will oil the joints and creak on
for a game or two.Both will make the dierence in a
game or two because they are sick of watching the
rubbish from the rest of us - but we wont notice

because the classic moments will come when Bolty

tries to pull o Vlad and Vlad tries to pull o Bolty!
- Minol will convince Vlad and Bolty the shirts
have shrunk. He will influence the balance of
matches, changing them when needed....tackling and
scoring quality but can pick a pass better than he
can pick food out of those teeth!
- Harry hasnt played a competitive match since
being player of the 2012 grand final, so will be keen
having missed out last season. The busy bee of the
team, loves a battle and since Leanne let Mia have
an email address has found the confidence we like in
our team....getting on to his knees with Leanne to
secure his very own email!
- Thommo enjoys the man crush from many of
the team...greatest player Ive ever played with, he
could have been a socceroo, hes just really good
looking...and so on! It is likely he will enjoy playing
behind yours truly again...knowing that my very wise
positioning opens up massive channels for him to
run into and also sometimes even provides him with
the chance to defend against two players at the same
time!
There are also a couple of new players that may
yet join the squad....once they do become ocial
theyll of course have a deserved press
announcement!!!
Also, Noons has started the season in similar style
to 2013 by putting himself on a drink ban....the ban
last year lasting longer than the betting options
(nobody had any money beyond 4 weeks!). So the first
odds of the season are for how long the big fella will
stay o the grog?

Last 2-3 weeks - 2/1
Cracks at 4 weeks - 4/6
Lasts 5-6 weeks - 1/1
Lasts 7-8 weeks - youre kidding right?
Lasts 8+ weeks - beer is obviously no longer made!
