Man of the Match

Alex/Naya/Adam

Kellyville today took the Minor Premiership,

winning 2-0 against Castle Hill Black at Fred Caterson.
An outstanding team performance delivering the silverware
to the mighty Kolts. All of the squad were up for it - all playing
there part in a deserved victory.

NEXT MATCH
v Lidcombe

The Kolts went looking for the second. Naya broke away
again, after another excellent run. His shot aiming to seal it
was driven with power, unfortunately straight at the chest of
the advancing keeper (who was reaching for a chip) - THUD!.
The sealer came with ten to go...

Kellyville started on the front foot. Dame marshalling the

troops, setting the standard in defence and ensuring possession
was in our favour. The first 15 had Castle Hill chasing shadows
as the ball was shifted quickly with players moving in and out
of spaces. Noons, Thommo and Adam worked in defence and
also making the dierence in attack, wanting ball and being
extra options that Castle Hill could not deal with.

The ball got whipped in from the right to the near post. A
defender lunged at the ball clearing it away from goal but only
getting enough contact to send it just out beyond the six yard
box near the byline. Trev was first to the loose ball, spinning on
the ball to face the defender. As the Kolts lined up looking for
square balls and cutbacks, the impossible seemed possible to
Trev so.........

The big park gave the Kolts room to knock it around the
back and play with extreme width. Harry and Trev benefiting
from Castle Hill struggling to be able to cover all of the Kolts
across the park.

......the sublime skills of years of futsal, the vision, the gaule

and the ego combined to perfection! As the defender came out,
Trev dipped the left shoulder, shifting the defenders weight,
the left foot rolled across the top of the ball, heading towards
the byline - a 15 cm gap enough for Trev to finess the ball with
the outside of his left through.....a feather touch with the right
boot as he looked at the many options inside, allowing his ego
to refuse to pass aiming instead to complete the original vision
he had of him scoring from an impossible position (the kind of
arrogance Notworthy, Donny and Dozza would be proud of!).
Defenders scrambling to the goal line were set to cover the
square ball, one on either post and a keeper and defender
covering the centre of the goal....never expecting that Trev
would put the whole move together....spin, dummy, roll, dribble
and a shot from a couple of metres outside the post - they
were wrong (yes I know they would normally be right, but this
is my story!)

After half an hour another shift around the back saw

Thommo play up the line forcing defenders to come across to
Trev opening up the channel. The ball shifted back to Thommo
as Naya made the run across the park anticipating Thommos
vision. A pinpoint pass through the gap released Naya, beating
the oside trap. He scooted away taking a touch into the box
and another to settle. The keeper was stuck on his line and
couldnt get down to the ball shot low at pace. Another great
finish from Naya and a deserved lead for the Kolts.
The centre of the park was about who could get control of
the space and the game. Jaime and Alex balanced each other
perfectly - holding the space, winning ball, getting the ball out
wide and giving the CH superstar midfield no time to settle
when they had possession. Vic was able to drop in and out of
midfield and Ad and Dame stepped up and in to midfield when
it suited.
The second half was again in the Kolts favour until the gale
kicked in mid half and the football got ugly. The lads learning
from previous weeks, talking there way through a tough ten
minutes and regaining control of the ball and the match. Vic
doing an excellent job opening space and holding possession.
The bench also kicked in and helped to regain possession
and control of the play. Rich at right mid and Stoney at left
back.

The only option was a centimetre perfect drive into the

roof of the net - delivered with precision and
power....AAAAAWWEEESSOOMMMEE!!!!!!
(Ed. Note: I had real trouble writing these last few
paragraphs as I believe there are players in our team almost as
good as me and Im not really the sort to make it all about me!)
Another clean sheet from shotstopper Nolan dealing
strongly with corners and free kicks whipped in on the wind
and an outstanding save with 10 to go, diving full length to his
right to knock a good shot around the post.
