The Leeds Mentoring Pipeline


Mission:
To enhance the Leeds academic experience by providing opportunities to
develop academic, personal, and professional skills through a continuum of
mentoring relationships.

Vision:
The Leeds Mentoring Programs office aspires to set the standard for
integrating mentored learning experiences into business education; providing
our students with the real-world skills, knowledge and experience necessary to

Your First Meeting


Objective: Make a connection, learn about each other, build rapport,
establish expectations, start setting goals (Mentoring Goals & SMART Goal
Setting Worksheet)
Who: You are responsible for the initial outreach and scheduling
When:
Contact via email within 48 hours of match. Make plans for your
first mentoring meeting or call (Due by Feb. 19).
Where: Somewhere comfortable, quiet, and accessible for both. Skype or
video chat if in-person meeting is impossible.
What: Before the first meeting you should:

Research your mentor (Leeds Mentoring Network profile, LinkedIn, Google,


company website, etc.)
Prepare your Personal Statement
Think about what you could use your mentors help with this semester
Bring the Mentor-Mentee Partnership Agreement
