the Bedroom,

Childrens Room & Study Room
The bedroom is where you rest, relax and hide
away from the world. It is vital that when you
sleep, you ensure all the energy that enters
your body replenishes and revitalizes you, is
auspicious and attracts good luck for when
you wake up in the morning. The best time to
sleep is by 11pm each night. This is when your
body rejuvenates its cells and fills up with new
energy that will take you through another day
of auspicious luck. 11pm is also the time slot
of the first animal sign, a sign that symbolizes
starting a new cycle afresh for the following
day.
The Master Bedroom of the house is
where the matriarch and patriarch of the
home reside. The Northwest sector is a good
location for the bedroom of the Patriarch,
while the Southwest sector is a good place for
the Matriarch. The main bedroom is the most
important bedroom, as this has an enormous
effect on the harmony of the home, on the
well-being of all residents within the home,
and on the finances of the household.
There are three important things you need to
take note of:
1)
2)

3)

The shape of the bedroom

The positioning of the bed within the
bedroom and the bedroom sector
Decorative objects in the bedroom

It is best to have a rectangular or square

shaped bedroom. Try to use the magic ratio if
you can. The magic ratio is 1:1.618. This means
that the proportion of the bedroom should be
1 (the short side) to 1.618 (the long side). If your
bedroom has an irregular shape (such as an
L-shape), try to use a screen featuring good
fortune symbols as a divider. This will transform
the bedroom into a more regular shape.
Never use mirrors as a feng shui cure for the
bedroom.
Position your bed to face your best direction
according to the Eight Mansions KUA formula.
You can check for your best directions by
logging on to www.wofs.com and using the
Kua Calculator. If you cannot position your
bed to tap your best direction, at least try and
tap one of your other three good directions.

You can also allocate your bedroom according to

the later heaven Pa Kua trigrams placed around
the eight directions. According to this arrangement,
each direction has representative members of the
family. Using this formula, you can allocate your
bedroom according to family members. Below is
a reference table for the different members of the
family with their matching directions.

The Yin Component plays a much larger role in the

bedroom compared to in the other rooms of the
house. This is because the bedroom is a place for
rest, recuperation and relaxation. Do not make the
energy in the bedroom too Yang. The bedroom should
suggest calm and quiet. The color scheme should be
muted. Lighting should not be too bright, and you
should avoid having a television in the bedroom.
However, also make sure it is not too Yin. For example, if you are lacking of energy,
get yourself a red bed sheet. Use your own judgment when applying feng shui to your
bedroom.
Do not go overboard when decorating your bedroom. You can energize the bedroom
for marriage, romance and love relationships. Place a pair of mandarin ducks for
marriage luck, a rose quartz puffed heart for romance and other love symbols. But it is
better not to energize for wealth in the bedroom. Wealth enhancers are better suited to
the living room and office.
Bedroom feng shui should observe all taboos relating to orientation, views,
structures, shapes together with achieving auspicious sleeping directions for each
family member.

Key Taboos related to Bedroom Feng Shui

1. The bed should not be placed directly
below an exposed beam.
2. The bed should be placed against a solid
wall.
3. Do not position the bed so that it faces
another bedroom door.
4. Do not have any mirrors directly facing the
bed.
5. The bed should not be placed between 2
doors.
6. Neither should the bed face a protruding
corner.
7. The headboard must be placed against a
wall. It should never be floating.
8. Never move the bed when the wife is
pregnant.

11. Do not sleep in a
room directly below a toilet.
12. Do not have fancy archways
in your bedroom.
13. Do not place potted plants or an
aquarium in a bedroom.

Children are always growing and they are

usually full of energy. For childrens rooms it is
thus best to use more yang energy features
than yin energy features. This means more
light and noise. Avoid hanging any fierce
looking images or placing any aggressive
looking figurines in a childs room. Wrong
placement of the bed and study desk can
cause problems to a childs health and
performance in their studies. For children,
the sitting and sleeping directions are the
two vital factors for tapping good feng shui.

Childrens Rooms
& Study Rooms
1) Arrange your childs bed to tap his or her Fu
Wei direction. It is not necessary for children
to tap their wealth direction as they have not
yet entered the job market. Instead, energize
for good health, good study luck and good
sleeping patterns for your child.
2) Focus on the study desk. Make sure they are
tapping their Fu Wei direction when they are
studying or doing their homework.

Things to Take Into Consideration When Arranging the Study Room

1) Do not place the desk with a window or door behind the chair.
2) Do not have a tree growing too near to your childs bedroom.
3) Make sure your child does not get hit by a protruding air-conditioner or
an exposed overhead beam above the study desk.
4) Make sure your child does not get hit by the sharp edge of any cupboard, pillar or
protruding corner.
5) Do not have open book shelves in the bedroom.
6) Do not place the study desk between the door and a window.
7) Make sure the NE sector of the house is not afflicted by a toilet, storeroom or kitchen.
Place a 6 rods metal windchime to exhaust the Earth energy here if these taboo rooms
happen to be situated in the NE sector.

Feng Shui Enhancers for the Study

1) Place a crystal globe in the NE of the study room. Ask your child to spin the crystal globe 3
times a day.
2) Place a 7-level pagoda in the NE of the study room or on the study desk to improve
examination luck.
3) Get your child a personal crystal point. Teach your child how to use the crystal point. He or
she should hold the crystal in his or her left hand while studying and revising. He or she can
then bring the crystal point into exams. The crystal point should be soaked in sea-salt water
for 7 days and 7 nights before it is used, to rid the crystal of other peoples energies. This
crystal point will then be your childs personal crystal throughout his/her academic career.
4) Place different colors of glitter lamps in the NE sector of your childs room to activate for
good study luck.
