PSTN NETWORK

The word PSTN stands for:

P = Public
S = Switch
T = Transit
N = Network

INTRODUCTION..
The public switch transit network (PSTN) is the network of the
world’s public circuit-switched telephone networks. Originally a
network of fixed-line analog telephone systems, the PSTN is
now most entirely digital at it’s core and includes mobile aswell
as fixed (plain old telephone service, POTS) telephones.

The PSTN in PTCL is mainly governed by a software known as


BnCC which standes for Billing and Costumer Care. The BnCC is
run through IN.
IN: IN stands for Inteligent Network it is Known as
the brain of BnCC. The IN is then connected to the
SWITCH which is also known as the 2nd brain. The
SWITCH is then further connicted to the VoM which
is known as the Voice Modulator.
The main work of the IN is to give comands to the
switch n the switch exicute those comands.

BnCC is divided into 2 parts


• Billing
• Costumer Care

Billing is done by a back hand software RS (Reciving


System)
Costumer care is run by a back hand program CCS.

e.g If a costumer activates or applies for a packeg it


is delt by CCs and if the issue is related to billing it is
handled by RS.
