<<WHAT SHOULD WE WORK ON AT HOME?>>


Please practice not only spelling your childs Words Their Way words, but
also sorting them into the correct category. At our last professional
development meeting we decided the tests will not only test students on
their spelling, but also by sorting words into the appropriate word pattern
categories. The idea is they will be able to read and write words that follow
the same word patterns even when they werent spelling words

Spelling test scores will be a bit different with the new testing format. Each word is worth 4% (2% for
spelling and 2% for the correct category placement.)
Math Fluency Checks have started. Each Friday, Ill be testing your student on their multiplication skills
with 3 minute time tests. We started with our 2s and had 15/24 students get it on their first try! Keep
practicing facts at home to get that automatically!
