Role Overview

Minimum Requirements
Ability to work cooperatively with others, accept direction, and assume
leadership responsibility and complete tasks as assigned.
Serv-Safe Certification or the ability to obtain Serve-Safe Certification within 1
yr. of employment and keep current throughout employment.
Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of this position.
Ability to meet physical requirements:
- Prolonged standing;
- Physical exertion to manually move, lift, carry, pull or push heavy objects or
materials;
- Stooping, bending, and reaching;
- Tolerate noisy, crowded environment, food odors, and temperature
variations; and
- Loading and transporting meals.
Large quantity Food Service experience.
Valid drivers license with excellent record.
Knowledge of food service equipment; appropriate operation, cleaning, and
sanitizing.
Minimum three (3) years experience working with and supervising other
employees.
Ability to supervise and assign work within the limits provided by the WCPS
Food and Nutrition Services Department.
Ability to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable
accommodations.
Preferred Qualifications
Communicate effectively with members of the food service staff, school staff,
students, and the community.
Ability to use computer systems to perform work functions.
Associates degree.
Experience simultaneously supervising multiple locations.

Assist with service during the specified serving times using portion control
standards.
Ability to operate an efficient, high quality, and cost effective food service
operation encompassing the base kitchen and receiving schools.
Development of job duties for individual employees.
Create an atmosphere for employee productivity and satisfaction, role
modeling high professional standards for the program and its employees.
Order food and supplies based on menus and within limits provided by the
WCPS Food and Nutrition Services Department.
Ensure that all activities conform to USDA, MSDE, Department of Health, WCPS,
and community standards.
Assure safe health practices in the preparation and serving of food in
accordance with Department of Health standards, HACCP protocol, and ServSafe principles.
Integrate a comprehensive training program and standards for evaluation of
employee performance.
Adapt to frequent changes in job duties from managing to food preparation to
complete tasks as assigned.
Oversee on the job training to all employees.
Report Health Department inspections, faulty equipment and accidents to
WCPS Food and Nutrition Services Department.
Operation of computerized cash register system to include but not limited to:
- Cash register end of day procedures;
- Cash reconciliation records; and
- Student account balance oversight and adherence to WCPS charge policy.
Keep accurate records, including:
- Transport sheets;
- Production records;
- Sales reports;
- Site self-inspection check list; and
- HACCP operating procedures and records.
Keep Assistant Supervisor aware of any special dietary need.
Cooperate with instructional staff to execute nutrition education programs.
Adhere to all health and safety policies.
Adhere to regulations and procedures for students with special dietary needs.
Attend meetings, classes, in-services and workshops as offered.
Understand and support the philosophy and mission of the WCPS Food &
Nutrition Services Department.
Demonstrate courteous and professional demeanor to all stakeholders of
Washington County Public Schools.
Complete other duties as assigned.
