Associate Justice of the Sandiganbayan. He is Currently the Vice-Chairperson and the Professorial Lecturer of the Department of Remedial Law, Philippine Judicial Academy (PHILJA). He is a member of the Supreme Court Sub-Committee on Revision of Rules on Criminal Procedure and the Court of Tax Appeals. Justice Gesmundo under the auspices of the PHILJA attended the Partnership Forum on Transnational Organized Crime on January 27-29, 2010, Bangkok, Thailand conducted by the United Nations Office on Drugs Crime (UNODC) and the Improvement of Judicial Fairness and Efficient Judicial Administration on April 14-30, 2008, Seoul Korea, organized by the Supreme Court of Korea and the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA). Prior to joining the judiciary, Justice Gesmundo worked with the Office of the Solicitor General, starting out as a Trial Attorney in August 1895 until he was promoted to assistant Solicitor General in August 2002. He was awarded Most Outstanding Solicitor in 1998. He has taught various remedial law subjects at the Sto. Tomas and Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Pasay. Justice Gesmundo was one of the Bar Examiners in Remedial Law in the 2009 Bar Examination. He obtained his law degree in 1984 from the Ateneo de Manila University.
