SUPERLATIVE

To me, English is easier than


Science. Mathemathics is more
difficult than Science.
So, English is the easiest one,
and Mathematics is the most
difficult one.

Comparative
adjectives
Comparative adjectives are
used to compare differences
between the two objects
they modify (larger, smaller,
faster, higher).
They are used in sentences
where two nouns are
compared.

Pattern:
Noun (subject) + verb +
comparative adjective
+than+ noun (object).
e.g:
My brother is taller than
me.
My mother is shorter
than me.

Superlative
adjectives
Superlative adjectives are
used to describe an object
which is at the upper or
lower limit of a quality
(the tallest, the smallest,
the fastest, the highest).

Pattern:
Noun (subject) + verb +
the + superlative
adjective + noun (object).
e.g:
My brother is the tallest.
My mother is the
shortest.

Regular adjectives
Add -er for the comparative and -est
for the superlative to adjectives
which:
* Have one syllabe
*Ending
