EXERCISE ONE: No hand contact.
1. FACE IMPRESSION: Sit facing someone you do not know too well almost knee
to knee but no contact with your hands in your lap.
2. Simply enjoy gazing at each others face for a moment or two without talking.
3. Notice your partners general facial impression: Steady and unchanging; Mobile
and ever changing; Apparently open and curious versus closed and avoidant;
Emotional impressions, happy, sad, depressed, angry, bold, shy, calm, active
etc.
4. EYE IMPRESSION: Notice your partners eyes. The eye brows, the eye lashes,
the color of the eyes iris, the color of the sclera (white of the eye) the size of the
pupil and its mobility (spontaneously opening and closing), etc.
5. Sense the psychological state of the eyes: alertness, speed and frequency of the
eye blink; openness and frequency of eye contact or avoidance of eye contact,
etc.
6. NOSE IMPRESSION: Notice the color of the nose and its changes (reddening or
blanching); Notice the size of the nostrils and their changes (opening and closing
with inhalation or exhalation); notice dryness or moisture of the nostrils, etc.
7. MOUTH IMPRESSION: Notice opening and closing; chewing or relaxed;
steadiness or mobility; smiling or sadness; Inhalation & exhalation, etc.
8. THROAT & PULSATIONS: Notice any movements of the throat: gulping, &
swallowing; Notice pulsations in throat arteries that may be visible; spontaneous
9. turning of head left or right, up or down etc.
EXERCIZE TWO: Minimal Hand Contact Position
CONTACT: Sit facing the same person as above but so close that your knees may
occasionally make accidental contact but then pull them apart immediately. Place
your hands 6 to 8 inches above your knees. Place you right palm up so your
partners left palm can rest lightly on it. Your partner does the same so you are
continuously in contact with each others palms only.

Repeat the above observations on each other and

notice the changes! Repeat as needed.
