Assisted in researching and writing National Register of Historic Places


nominations for two sites in Jonesboro, Arkansas. Gained experience in the
photography regulations for NRHP nominations.

Assisted in conducting interviews with individuals who served as teachers


and students during the 1955 integration of the Hoxie Public School. Aided
interviewees in understanding consent forms and received signatures of
consent. Observed interviews and developed additional questions to ask
participants. Historian: Dr. Edward Salo, Arkansas State University.
Assisted with the restoration and installation of the Jack Robinson
permanent exhibit at the Sheraton Hotel, Canal Street, New Orleans,
Louisiana. Historian and curator: Dr. Sarah Wilkerson Freeman.

Participated in the continuing research of the Rohwer Japanese American


Internment Camp in McGehee, Arkansas. Scanned and digitized historical
records. Researched venues in the west for future exhibit sites. Historian and
advisor: Dr. Sarah Wilkerson Freeman.

Controlled and managed the organization and preparation of the National


Register of Historic Places Nomination for the Johnny Cash Boyhood Home in
Dyess, Arkansas as part of a graduate-level historic preservation course.
Served as the communication link between professor and group members,
edited and reviewed the final nomination of this New Deal-era house in the
historic Dyess Colony of Mississippi County, Arkansas. Historian and project
advisor: Dr. Edward Salo.
