Tuesday, 10 Sep. 2011
Ive finally returned home to Salt Lake City, which was all I wanted to do
from the moment weve begun our trip. This had to be the family trip from
hell.
We woke up with the sun to get an early start on our two-day drive to
California. My parents had the brilliant idea of buying a station wagon, so we
all could fit in the same car, but the car wasnt as wonderful as they hoped.
Brian and I had to sit in the back and it was so hot that we almost
suffocated.
On the first night we stayed at my grandparents vacation trailer in Nevada.
Swimming seemed the perfect way to end the day, so we went to the pool
to cool off.
Unfortunately the elderly people from the other trailers were furious to see
youngsters dirtying their pool. Can you imagine that??
In California we stayed at a campsite close to the beach, but before we had
a chance to get comfortable, we saw storms clouds approaching. It started
to rain and we werent prepared for cold and rainy weather. After three
miserable days sitting on our cold, wet tent, we finally packed up and
started on our way home.
Im glad Im back because I missed talking to you.
Love
Catherine
