Convulsiones
Cuando un paciente presenta crisis convulsiva se debe
tratar inicialmente con Diazepam 10mg por vía IV o
rectal, otra posibilidad es utilizar Midazolan por vía
subcutanea.
Una vez finalizada la crisis convulsiva se inicia
tratamiento con fármacos anticonvulsivantes
Espasmos/Calambres musculares
Poco frecuente, pero produce gran disconfort en los
pacientes que los sufren

Estertores premorten
Los ruidos percibidos con los movimientos
respiratorios de pacientes terminales y que son
provocados por la acumulación de secreciones
Esta situación, suele causar gran angustia a los
familiares debido a que piensan que el paciente se
muere ahogado, debemos explicarles que se trata de
una manifestación más de la agonía.
Estreñimiento
Es un síntoma que puede aparecer hasta en el 90%
de los pacientes terminales.
Puede causar o exacerbar otros síntomas: flatulencia,
dolor abdominal, anorexia, nauseas y vómitos,
disfunciones urinarias, confusión, diarrea por
rebosamiento.

Sintomas
Insomnio
Es un síntoma muy frecuente en pacientes con cáncer.
Sus causas son múltiples, las principales son:Control deficiente de
otros síntomas como dolor, vómitos, ansiedad, nicturia…
Fármacos estimulantes (esteroides, antidepresivos, cafeína...)
Trastornos psiquiátricos y entre ellos el miedo del paciente a
“dormirse definitivamente”
Náuseas y vómitos
Están presentes hasta en un 60% de los pacientes con cáncer
avanzado.

Sintomas
Tenesmo urinario
Es el deseo constante de orinar, que se realiza en
forma de goteo. Es preciso descartar infecciones,
estreñimiento o fármacos (Fenotiacinas).
Tos
Tiene una etiología multifactorial. Suele exacerbar
otros síntomas (dolor, vómitos, insomnio).
