between 1890 and 1914,
Analyze the role the following events played in expanding Americas global influence
and redefining its foreign policy:
o the Spanish American War,
o the Philippine Revolution,
o the Panama Canal,
o the Open Door Policy, and
o the Roosevelt Corollary

United States from 1890 to 1914.

Explain the impact of the Spanish-American War on Cuba and the United
States.

Explain the imperialistic role of the United States in the Philippines, Panama,
Japan and China.
Explain the significance of the Roosevelt Corollary for the United States and its
foreign policy.

Lecture/Teaching: Study.com / History 104 U.S. History II There are 3 video
teachings in this chapterlinks for all can be found on the class website in the Online
Teachings tab. I will also have an online teaching that goes along with The American
West PowerPoint.
Becoming a World Power Slideshow: The Becoming a World Power Google
Slideshow is available on the class website in the Online Teachings tab and in the
Online Textbook/Planner.
Classroom Study Groups: Students can choose to work with a group of students to
complete readings, reviews, worksheets, graphic organizers, etc. Could be level 2 or 3
learning.
Classroom Discussion Groups: Students can choose to work with a group of
students to discuss, evaluate and analyze unit content and concepts.

This is definitely a level 3, extend and refine knowledge activity. At this point
you should be analyzing and evaluating the content at a deeper level.
