Comment
Mr. Riggs is a great teacher. He is fun and he really cares about his students' success.
he made the the class fun and cared about our performance in class.
Great teacher that you can learn a lot form.
Nicholas Riggs is a fantastic teacher, I've learned so much from this class mainly because of his teaching style.
He understands the kids as students and that's what makes his class effective, also I never wanted to miss a
class because of how great his teaching style is.
Mr. Riggs was able to make this class as the most interesting class I have ever taken
He's one of the best teachers here.
Awesome teacher!
Before I took the class I was terrified to even speak in front of people but with Nicholas Riggs' help I was able to
become more comfortable and deliver my speeches in a way I had never done before. He truly is an amazing
professor. I highly recommend him for all public speaking students.
Great instructor! Makes education fun while still teaching what needs to be taught!
This course was the most useful course I have ever been enrolled in. Throughout high school, middle school, and
the amount of college I've taken so far. This class has prepared me most for the outside world. Nicholas Riggs
taught this class with such a passion that it inspired me to become a better public speaker. He is by far the best
professor I have ever had and would definitely take another class with him.
He is a great teacher and really focused on us becoming comfortable speaking!
Professor Riggs is an amazing teacher. I have so much confidence in front of audiences. I can speak about
anything. Professor Riggs taught our class with fun activities and enticing assignments.
Very good Teacher that helped us understand the material
This class is the best course that I have taken at USF. The assignments that were required in the course were
made to enhance the student's ability to become better in public speaking and everyone in the course saw a major
improvement from the start of the semester. Nothing should be done to change the way Riggs facilitates the
course because the learning objectives were met and exceeded.
Mr.Riggs was an excellent teacher. He was able to present the information we needed to know in a more exciting
process. He made it so students were not always scared to stand in front of the class and make a speech. By far
one of favorite teachers in one of the scariest classes for most people. Glad i was able to take it with Mr. Riggs

Comment
Nicholas Riggs is an energetic instructor, but doesn't seem to ever have a lesson plan or any concrete grading
system. He seems more interested in stroking his own ego than teaching the class. Also, I don't care to hear how
busy he is with his extracurricular activities, but I can't get my papers graded for months.
I love the way Professor Riggs ran the course. Instead of just merely reading from the textbook, he held daily
discussion which were more meaningful. His interest in the material also allowed him to successfully educate the
class with this new information. In addition, he provided a fun environment each morning to learn in. I enjoyed his
class so much that I have enrolled in a different class he will be teaching next semester.
I enjoyed this course. The discussions were enjoyable as well as provided information in regards to the topic at
hand. The only thing I did not like about the class was the attendance policy. The grades were dropped if you
missed even one class. Things happen and students should not be docked in their grade for missing one or two
classes throughout a semester.
The class is interesting and he makes it fun. There are lots of other classes a person can take that are boring and
practices in memorization. Nick will have you actually thinking about what you are learning.
He made every class enjoyable. He respected ever student and their ideas. The papers that he assigned were very
interesting and enjoyable to write. He made the concepts come to life with the activities that we did in class. If I
could I would take more classes that he teaches.
Nicholas Riggs is the best teacher anyone could ask for. His personality is amazing and helps us with
understanding the material that is given throughout the semester. He provides us and keep us motivated by
applying real life scenarios along with helping us to expand our mind through games he has created to go with
each writing assignment. Its truly amazing. I would recommend him to everyone I know. Thanks so much for a fun
semester.

Comment
He is easy to understand, clearly explains very complicated topics, relates to students and topics very well. He's
respectful of everyone, entertaining, makes students feel comfortable speaking in class. I really enjoyed the class
and look forward to taking more courses with him. This is my second semester since registering with the Students
with Disabilities office for considerations. The first semester I had some issues with a professor and felt that he
was disrespectful towards myself and my condition and didn't afford the considerations asked. Mr. Riggs was
always respectful of my considerations, and it wasn't an issue at all, it was a relief to me to know that I didn't have
to worry about it with him. With respect to personality, the best professor I've had in my college career, with respect
to teaching, Mr. Riggs is in the top 3 best professors I've ever had and only because the other 2 were experts in
their field with very interesting career knowledge and stories.
Professor Riggs takes the learning procedure for this class and puts it into an interactive and exciting manner.
He is one of, if not the best, instructor I have ever had. Anyone who takes a class with him is lucky to. He cares
about the students and their success. Riggs is straight forward about all expectations for his assignments so that
everyone has the opportunity to get a good grade if they do the work. He students enjoy being in class, even three
hour classes on summer nights. I believe he can make the most boring subject or topic interesting to learn.
Nick is a different kind of professor. His teaching is so understandable and fun, it makes the course interesting.
He is great!
By far the best professor I've ever had! I love how it not a traditional class room setting! I hope i have more
opportunities to take other classes of his.
One of the best professors I've ever had.
Great Profession who cared that the students left the class learned something instead of other boring lecture. I
really enjoyed my time in this class and I hope to take him again in the future.
Nic was a great Professor, one of the best professors I have had at USF. He was passionate, engaging and made
the class very informative and fun. He cared deeply for his students and allowed us to explore new possibilities
and make the course our own. Highly recommend.
Mr. Riggs was excellent! He provided a comical, open, stimulating learning environment. Instead of spending his
time lecturing us right out of the book, he used a combination of readings, videos, and improvisation to engage us
in actually using persuasion and applying the concepts by working together with our classmates instead of simply
sitting there. We were often broken up into groups and had group discussions that gave me a chance to build my
collaboration skills and listen to the ideas of my other classmates that I would have missed out on in a regular
learning setting. Overall, Nick was very engaging and passionate about his subject and it shone through each
week as he teached. Definitely plan to take more of his classes in the upcoming semesters.
This was a very informative class. Nicolas Riggs really cares about the students in his class.
Professor Riggs made a partly interesting class extremely fun and entertaining! He did an amazing job connecting
persuasion to our real lives. If I could take future classes with him I would!

Comment
I think the topic can be very complex and it's easy to get lost in terminology, however the way Mr. Riggs taught it the
core ideas became very clear to me. Persuasion has been a daunting topic in the past to me, I don't usually like
speaking in class and especially don't like trying to persuade people, but Mr. Riggs broke it down in a way I
understood and felt comfortable speaking and persuading. One of the best classes I've taken in all my college
career.
Wonderful course. It is interesting and useful for life. I actually feel as though I will be able to use what I learned,
unlike some courses. I would recommend everyone to take it no matter their major.
It was interesting and a good class overall.

Comment
I absolutely love and enjoy the way Mr. Riggs runs his course. However there are times when he expects people to
speak up in class and I am not sure if he really thinks about the introverted students in his class. I am one of those
students and I would occasion feel bad for not expressing my opinion because I usually do not speak up during
class.
Nicholas Riggs was fantastic all semester! He provided a unique environment for an open discussion of ideas
and concepts. He was open and available to all students, in person and online. I would recommend him as an
instructor to everyone.
This guy was handed the worst class, meaning that my class was the laziest and most unresponsive class that
I've ever had, and yet he still found a way to make it fun and enjoyable. He works really hard to engage the class
with fun, thoughtful, and analytical conversations. I think this guy is about to graduate with a doctorate, so incase
he's planning on leaving, could you misplace some of his credits please? Just to keep him teaching at USF
longer.
Professor Riggs was awesome, really funny guy!
Professor Riggs always makes it worth coming to class. I have never dreaded the thought of his class. It's an
amazing learning atmosphere with him as the professor.
Nick was a good teacher.
Great teacher with excellent passion.
He rocks! As a professor he creates an exciting learning environment that makes students listen and contribute to
the class. He made discussion relevant to the material and wasn't afraid to be 100% honest with us. I would
absolutely recommend him to other students in the communication department for those who enjoy discussion
based classes, fun learning experiences, and really rad professors.
Nicholas Riggs always started on time and got right to the point when class started, you're getting the most time
for your money. He picked good movies and during discussion in class he found ways to make you talk even when
you didn't want to. In my opinion that was his way of making sure we understood what exactly was going on.
A truly great and stimulating person. He has great ideas and really values what he is teaching.
Professor Riggs is one of the best professors I've had at USF. He is passionate about what he does, and he
makes sure we relate the material to our own lives. I took the class that met once a week, and the time went by fast
because he is able to make the discussion meaningful in an enjoyable way. He gives you the tools you need to set
yourself up for success. I would recommend students to take this class with him.
AMAZING teacher. Very easy to relate, down-to-earth, and thought provoking. Inspired conversation and brought us
out of the "morning slump" most of us were in. Consistently brought energy to the classrooms, and easily one of
my favorite teachers.

I absolutely love this course. There is nothing and I mean nothing that I wold change about it.
Relationships on Film is a fantastic course. This course provided an important investigation into the concepts and
ideas surrounding the study of film and interpersonal interaction and communication. Understanding
interpersonal actions through film is unique and honestly fun. I would absolutely recommend this course!
Great films, great topics, and relevant homework.
Some of the films were not my cup of tea, but I guess it help diversify my taste in film.
The course would be better with more help on analyzing films, such as mini projects dealing with Mis en scene.
This class was a lot of fun! I feel it helped me learn how to properly analyze film. It also helped me recognize
relationships on and off film. I feel this class helped open my mind and look at things analytically, rather than just
on the surface. Would definitely recommend friends to take this course!
Awesome class.
One of my favorite courses I've taken, very insightful and fun course to take. Would recommend to ANYBODY as
long as they had an extra class to take- this would be the perfect class.
Fun interesting class
