needs as people and as
learners

Students will go EEKK (eye to eye, knee to eye) and talk

about what they think will happen in chapter 2. Teacher will
write down their predictions.
If applicable, how does this lesson connect to the interests and cultural
backgrounds of your students?
I decided to pick a chapter book to read instead of a picture book because this group of
students is in the higher-level reading group. I decided to use the Magic Tree House series
because these are books I see the students reading frequently.

the needs of your students
how will you take
individual and group
learning differences into
account.

Eventually the students will complete the story map individually and then we will regroup
to discuss. I plan on releasing responsibility around chapter 4. When students begin filling
out the story map individually I will supply a copy of the text if needed.
