lessonwouldbestbetaught,whetherthroughgroupwork,ateacherledlecture,
independentwork,oranothermethod.Finally,theteachershouldaskifthereisa
technologythatwouldenhancethelessoninsomeway.Couldtechnologyaddvalueto

period!Instead,Iincorporateshortvideos,allowtimeforgrouporpartneractivities,and

instrumental,ordrivenbythetechnologyitself.Insteadofasking,Howcanweuse
technologyinourclassrooms?,thefocusshouldbepropelledbyamission.Weneedto
askifandhowtechnologycouldhelpusaccomplishourmission.InthecaseofThe
FrenchAmericanInternationalSchool,Ourmissionistoprepareourstudentstothink
criticallyandcommunicateacrosscultures.Therearetechnologiesthatallowpeopleto
interactacrosstheglobe,problemsolvingtogetherandcomingupwithcomplex
solutions.Wouldanyofthesetechnologiesserveourstudentswell?Whentechnology
isappliedwithaspecificpurposeinmind,theoutcomeisoftenmuchgreater.In
essence,themissioniseverything,foritservesasthedrivingforcebehindevery
decision.
