55- The cover
image has been
framed
incredibly well.
The angle midshot looks good
and is a clean
image.
However, the
arms of the
artist have
either been
cropped or they
werent
captured which
doesnt fully
show the artist
off; although it
doesnt look
bad.

33- A basic
level of shots
have been used
such mid-shots,
two shots and
over the
shoulder/long
shots. They
look effective
and capture the
artists nicely.
57- The images
taken fit with
the task as the
cover image
shows the artist
using
headphones
and is dressed
matching the
music genre.
Similarly, the
cover page uses
an image of
what looks like
a duo and the
double page
spread has an
image of the
artist at a dance
studio; possibly
rehearsing.

57- The artist is

dressed in an
outfit which is
relevant to the
specific genre
and uses
colours to
match. The
colour scheme
also fits nicely
and is different;
making sure the
artists outfit
and the
background
dont clash. The
setting of the
images also
relate well as
they have
connotations of
music and
rehearsals.

43- The images

seem to be
taken and sized
well as they fit
the pages right
and look
positioned well.
They are
presented
neatly, however
the front cover
image has the
artists elbows
missing. Other
than that, the
rest looks
professional.
34- The register
used is fairly
formal which is
professional,
but is also
informal to
match the
genre of music.
The language
fits with the
task as it uses
jargon related
to music and
the genre such
as R&B and

names of
artists like
Beyonc and
Rihanna.

MEDIA STUDIES AFL 2016

41- The images

and text work
well together as
they are well
proportioned on
the pages. The
cover image
has text over it
which slightly
clashes as the
blue and white
clash. Other
than that, it
looks good.
34- A basic
level of layout
has been used
as the creator
has used the Z
structure for
their magazine,
making sure
the important
pieces of text
are seen and
highlighted.
The contents
page is tidy and
simple and the
double page
spread has
been organized
into standard
columns.
45- The creator
has used a
large and bold
font for the
masthead which
stands out well;
especially by
the use of
colour. The rest
of the text is
sized well in the
magazine and
uses a different
font from the
masthead.
However, some
pieces of text

using ICT
appropriately for
the task set

on the cover
such as
exclusive
could be made
slightly larger to
emphasise the
importance of
it.
37- The creator
seems to be
able to use
programs such
as Photoshop to
their advantage
as their text is
lined up neatly
and the images
are placed well.
The layers of
the magazine
look clean and
it looks
professional.

Summary Comment:

Overall, this magazine is very good and looks clean and

professional. The colour scheme used is different and works well
with the genre. The images and text used reflect the task and the
genre well and it is well presented.
