Member meeting will immediately follow Chapter. Enjoy your Valentine's Day!
In New Business we are voting on Individual Awards from the National Organization, as well
as the proposed Panhellenic total for all chapter which Genna will present to us. Emily will also be
presenting some Risk Management information.
Members who were initiated last Spring (2015)- I have your Initiation certificates so please
come get them after Chapter.
Greek Leadership Retreat is February 20th-21st at LUREC. It is a great way to gain
leadership experience and build relationships with other members of the Greek community at Loyola.
Chapter presidents and one "emerging leader" are invited to attend. I will be sending an Executive
Board member in my replacement as I am unable to attend. If you would like to attend as an emerging
leader, please send me an email at lucasapresident@gmail.com by next Wednesday, February 10th
with a paragraph explaining why you are interested in going on the retreat and how you think attending
will benefit both yourself as well as the rest of our chapter. The Executive Board will review all the
submissions as well as participation and previous leadership experience (both within and outside ASA)
in order to determine who will be attending the retreat along with the designated Executive Board
member.
We will be having another LC visit February 21st-28th. If you are able to house the
consultant please let me know as soon as possible!
Sending a card around for everyone to sign. It will be sent to the Alpha Sigma Alpha, Theta
Omega chapter at the University of New Haven, which will be installed on February 13th.

VP of PR and Recruitment: Monica Palle

What is COB?
o The purpose of Continuous Open Bidding is to enable the Panhellenic
chapters that did not fill quota or did not reach chapter total to invite additional new
members to join immediately following Formal Recruitment.
o Recruiting women through COB has always been more beneficial for the
chapter because we can recruit women at a more personable level.
o Sororities are responsible for reaching out to the potential new members
themselves, a marked difference from Formal Recruitment.
o The intent of COB is to provide maximum opportunities for membership
to the greatest number of women who did not join during Formal Recruitment, according
to the Panhellenic website.

o Women eligible for COB must not have received a bid during the most
recent formal membership recruitment.
o I hope everyone understands that COB is a very simple process and not
at all what some people make of it. Its giving women another opportunity to be in our
sorority.
In order to get COB into full swing, were going to start a wish list and we want every
member to add at least one name by Feb 14th.
o There will be a Google doc posted on #important.
You must meet with that member and one additional wishlist member by Feb 28th.
More details will be provided once we have our meeting with Janine from Panhellenic.
VP of Alumnae and Heritage: Tori Joseph
We're making valentines cards for alumnae during chapter so just fill out one of the
construction paper hearts with a little message!

VP of Programming and Ritual: Anne Miller

All times have been added for library nights and various other events that were missing times.
Please reach out to me with any probation sanction related questions and to know how we are
working those into our programming, my phone number is (408)442-2082.
A reminder that retreat is mandatory and if you dont attend you CANNOT go to formal. All
excuses must be sent by this Friday at 5 pm. The excuses that will be approved are if the conflict was
planned last semester and there must be documentation. Work is not an excuse!!

VP of Membership Education: Gina Chan

I want to let you all know that it is highly highly recommended that if you want to become a big
you attend new member meetings even if you arent a ruby. We will factor a womans attendance to
new member meetings in when matching up bigs and littles.
Remember that retreat is April 2-3 (basically all weekend) and if you miss retreat you cannot
attend formal. We can clarify what, if anything, is excusable with nationals. The reason we are so strict
on having everyone in attendance is because we will be doing two very very important sanction events
at retreat.
We will be moving Big Little reveal to after chapter on Sunday the 28th.

Secretary: Mihaela Tshobanova

Please have your reports to me by noon on Saturday for next chapter and include any
announcements you may have.
Let me know if you need a printout of the minutes.
Treasurer: Iliana Avalos
Everyone needs to pay $93 before February 12th because of our chapter statement due
February 15th. Once people pay the $93, it will subtract from the bill that is due on February
28th.
Please pay your dues from last month! I know recruitment might have made you forget to
pay but those need to be in.
If there is a problem, contact me or standards.

Everyone should have gotten an email from MobileServe asking them to sign up.
o Only 11 people have signed up for the app, and its really important that
you do this as soon as you can.
o Here is the link to make your account if you cant find the email:
http://app.mobileserve.org/user/signup/qtpi0edumscxotgwdbmz7lfl8ccdakpcndl0oeizezbe
jfddz7uk9jhr8as9isgv
After you make the account youll have to download the
app from the appstore too: mobileserve (its blue).
o The chapter code for Gamma Lambda is: 88E286.
o Just a reminder that if youre involved in a service that is throughout the
semester, it can only count for 15 hours.
o Next week, Ill make a short presentation about the difference between
service hours and charitable giving hours since I know a lot of people are confused.
But in the app, there is a place for you to record both
your service hours and your charitable giving hours.
o Its important not to wait until the last minute to record these hours,
because it does need verification from the supervisor before letting you log the hours.
This year, LBO will be on Friday March, 18th .
o We have Halas from 6-11:45, so Id like to start setting up at 4:30.
o Ill make a google doc within in next few weeks that says who is setting
up and who is tearing down.
o Also, remember that LBO is a mandatory event; so everyone should be
in attendance and just excited to raise money for our own philanthropy as they were for
Sig Chis Derby Days or Paddy Murphy Week.
Next week, Ill talk more about the different jobs that girls will need to sign up for, how to
ask for donations, and things like that.
A quick reminder for new members, you all need at least 10 service hours before initiation
on April 2nd..

o However, I highly encourage that you get more than 10 by then because
if you only have 10 hours by April 2nd, you only have a week or two to get 15 more hours.
Fundraising: Syeda Zaidi
This Thursday February 11 is the singing grams fundraiser that'll take place in Damen room
114 from 10:30-4:30! I need the girls to sign up for a time slot to help table which I'll post a google doc
for. I'm also going to make a Facebook event tonight and ask them to invite their friends as well.
Tabling in Damen and people can just come and go and buy a singing gram. Leave a phone
number for the acapella group to call later that day.
There will be bagels.
Posted google doc to sign up to help on Facebook page.

I know that the Super Bowl often means getting together at bars and having a grand ole
time but remember that you are ALWAYS wearing your letters and we expect you to be on your
best behavior.
Please do not post pictures of inappropriate activities on any form of social media. Make
sure you give your posts a look over to make sure everything is ASA approved, if not you will be
asked to take it down.
Over the next new member meetings, I will be making a presentation about participation
and good standing so look forward to that.
Again enjoy the football game but remember to be safe.

Questions for Cabinet
Members on senior status has to email if they wont be attending chapter.
TKE exchange is at 7:30 pm.
Karalyne requested an official email of the breakdown of required participation for
members on senior status.
Advisor:
JV: Welcome to all the new bugs I am super excited. With regards to service hours, you dont have to just
do 15 hours, the national organization looks at service and giving and itll help when we petition to get off
of probation. Try to get creative and think out of the box, people can help you find an organization for you
to help with. It is the 40th anniversary of the partnership between ASA and Special Olympics. There was a
shift from philanthropy to service and giving. We have 15 service hours as a national requirement and will
find out for the other 10 hours. Tabling doesnt count as service hours. LBO is giving hours, giving has
money attached to it. Please try to call it the national organization not nationals. Please do not do
anything to put this organization in jeopardy today. Youve made monumental progress, we dont have any
more chances. If you will be out doing something, dont put a picture on the internet and dont get tagged.
We will take this seriously. Be smart and be responsible. Dont undo all of the work because someone
decided to take a picture of you. This goes for Valentines day too. Daniella is gonna kill it at formal, you
should all be super excited but you all have to do the requirements to be able to attend. Suggestion for
sisterhood event take a trip to Northern to get greek stuff. Social heavy not sisterhood heavy.
We dont know exactly when we will be petitioning.
Dreya: we will be doing a presentation on this topic, it will be at a chapter this month and it will be very
clear. Shoutout to JV for the brownies.
Laura: I help Gina with member ed questions and concerns. If you have questions feel free to come to us
at any time.

Genna G. Presents Total for Panhellenic chapters
February 3rd, Panhellenic Council proposed total for all chapters at 175
members.Chapter will vote to approve the total
Not voting today because we need to talk to the liaison for ASA to the
National Panhellenic Council
This vote is our organizations stance on the total. Is it what is best for us
as a national organization and as a greek community, it is our voice in the discussion but
wont change anything
The previous total was 121
COB-any women go into our total. ASA and NPC position is that we
recruit to reach the total.
The new total is the average of all the chapters, We are the only ones
that fall below. Total is the number that Panhellenic pushes every chapter to strive to hit
through recruitment.
We need to keep recruiting, quota goes up and we need to do COB. If at
or above total, then organizations cant recruit
Emily
