Makeup artists can make young people look old, old people look young, and
anybody look glamorous. They can even turn an actor into a terrifying alien.
Makeup artists spend years learning about and practising shading, highlighting, and
other makeup application techniques to complement, enhance, or completely
change the face. They use cosmetics, powders, paints, gels, plastic, rubber, and
other synthetic products to create different looks, depending on the desired effect
and the person or company theyre working for.

You should be creative and artistic, enjoy experimenting with ideas and materials,
and have a good eye for color. Creativity is the most important skill to become a
makeup artist. You must deliver original results. Understanding bone structure, eye
size, and face shape is very important, as the makeup will vary from client to client
according to their body structure and shape.

Becoming a makeup artist is difficult as the competition rate is very high, it is very
challenging to become noticed as each makeup artist must come up with different
ways of presentations, the long hours and dedication towards the career, first
impressions of being the best and lastly the trust that the client is putting in your
hands to make them look their best wherever they are going to be.

If I am makeup artist, young actors can be made to look old, older actors to look
younger, creative characters can be created from nothing, and the makeup can
change as the character changes in the course of the story. I want to express
emotion of people.
