Experience the Truth

Leda, to many is someone who attends Cal State University, Northridge, however she
is actually a missionary. A missionary is someone who travels around the world and spreads the
Gospel of Jesus Christ. When she was in elementary school, she was prophesied to by a prophet,
and was told that she will become a missionary along with her little sister.
In her letter to her best friends, she admits, I first did not believe that I was going to be a
missionary. I was too young to understand nor did I have the amount of faith that I do today. As I
was growing up, my desire to travel grew stronger, however I believed that I would be traveling
the world to help those who were in need of medical assistance. I was wrong though because I
am not traveling just for my career, but also to introduce Jesus Christ to those who do not know
of Him. Leda was no longer just interested in the worldly needs. Instead she was interested in
helping those who were in need of guidance with their spiritual lives. It was no longer a fight to
survive earthly death, but a spiritual fight to have eternal life in Heaven with God.
Her life, like many others, was not an easy one. She was always afraid to talk about God
with those who did not believe, and usually those people were her friends. She had two dear
friends that she loved truly in high school, but they werent Christians. One was Muslim and the
other was Atheist in a sense, but she loved the Wicked religion. It was hard for her to talk to her
Muslim best friend because she was already firm in her views, unlike the other. She was able to
get the atheist friend to go to church with her, but her friend did not feel too cut out for it.
The more Leda got into her faith, the more she realized how dreadful it would be to
know that her best friends would not make it into heaven with her if they did not accept Christ
into their lives. She took that perspective out and took into a whole different arena. She started

looking at the people around her and even though they were strangers to her, she had that same
sense of feelings towards those strangers. Not everyone is going to believe in Christ, and that is
that reality that she faced. However, she knew if she did her best, a few souls being saved were
better than none.
Another letter she sent out to her friends, she told them about how she felt about the
situation, hoping that her best friends would come to Christ one day. Pastor always told me,
why wait until you have a career, start saving souls now, and your career will help you fulfill a
greater vision. I just hope that one day you both would be able to at least come and travel with
me. See what I do! Maybe, just maybe, you guys would one day see the light, before it becomes
too late. I love you both.
Just because she is a missionary, does not mean that has the perfect life. No ones life,
according to her, is perfect. Even when Christ was walking on Earth, he did not have a perfect
life. He dealt with many of the situations that she claims all of us deal with today and one of
those many situations that we deal with are temptations.
Growing up in all Hispanic Church, and being the only one, along with her sister, that
was mixed was difficult for her. She thought Church should be a place where society does not
walk through the doors of the sanctuary, but it was false. People tend to bring society within in
the church, this is where her faith began being tested, mostly during her high school years.
Temptations came after he like a fire that she could not put out at all. One of major situations was
the gossip that was going on within the Church. The major problem was the conflict between her
and the Pastors sons girlfriend. Leda did not hate her, but she was not fond of her. However,
his girlfriend and her mom despised her and would do anything and everything in their power to
stop her from going to her ministry.

In her diary entry she talks about how it felt like she was, walking around a mountain for
forty years. I liked this boy since I was young, and he said he felt the same, but I know it is too
late. I just dont want to be in a conflict where they make out to be a whore. Correction, a Church
whore. If I let this defeat me, and if people believe the lies, then how I can I be a leader? They
would not view as a leader, but rather a hypocrite. A wannabe holy girl, and that is not the case. I
will prove them wrong!
No matter the situation that she faced, she proved them wrong, and the truth came into
light. Today, that is why she is missionary. She did let those temptations destroy her, but rather
allow her faith to grow. She knew from right and wrong. She prayed and read her bible. She
learned from her shepherd as she was the sheep.
She is one of many missionaries who travels and fulfills Gods purpose and that is to save
souls. Today she has saved over 200 people within the past 8 months. To her, faith without works
is dead, and according example, she proved that. Leda had faith, she put in the effort, and she
was able to do so much as missionary and she continues to travel today because Gods work is
not dead.
