INTRODUCTION
Sara Qadi
Aquatic biome is one of the most natural things in the world. There are a
lot of things could happen in it such as storms and other. However, if the
climate change it will get worst so it is important to look at the climate if it is
change or doesn't. Aquatic biome took a place that animals and the climate
could fit in it and animals could feed their selves from what it has.

ABSTRACT
Salma Shaksher
The Aquatic biome is one from the most important biomes in the world,
because as everybody knows, it covers 3/4 from the entire Earth. As a model
for the Aquatic biome, bring 2 boxes and glue them together, then spray them
by the color of the sea (blue). Then, put some fake fish in the box.

DISCUSSION
Geographical Location
Salma Shaksher
The Aquatic biome covers 75% of the Earth planet, which shows how
important the Aquatic biome is. As everybody knows, oceans are the largest
ecosystem on earth. 1The names of the 5 oceans Pacific ocean, Atlantic ocean,
Indian ocean, and Arctic ocean. 2 The Aquatic biome contains oceans, seas,
lakes, river.3 The largest ocean is the Pacific Ocean4. Also, the largest sea in the
world is South China.
There are a lot of lakes in the world, and the largest one is Lake Baikal5.
Sea creatures lives in lakes, river, seas, ocean but, they dont live in the Dead
Sea which is in Palestine. Asio Lake is the smallest lake in the world.6 Aquatic
biome is also called marine biome. 7

Landforms
Salma Shaksher
The coral reef biome is located within the ocean but is separate from the
ocean biome.8 Coral reefs form is about 150 feet (45 meters) deep from the
surface because they need sunlight to survive. Coral reef is a ridge of rock that
is under the sea or oceans It has some sea plants on these rocks.9 There are
two types of the coral reefs, which are: soft corals, and hard corals.10
The three types of coral reefs are fringing reefs, barrier reefs, and coral
atolls. The Fringing Reef type of reef grows seaward directly from the shore
and it's the most common type. Barrier reefs are similar to fringing, however,
instead of growing directly out from the shore, they are separated from land by
a little bit of water. 11

Animals
Sara Qadi
There are a lot of animals in the aquatic areas. The animals could not
need for help or food from us they take care of themselves. Some need the
movement of the rivers and streams to survive. When people want to fish they
go to aquatic areas because it holds a lot of fresh fish and more animals that we
eat. Trout is one important freshwater in the United States, trout lives in both
streams and rivers. 12

Animals in the longest lives sit in Marion's tortoise (152 years). Whales,
fish, tout, dolphins, sharks, and others. These are the types of animals that live
in the aquatic areas. 13 They eat what they found in the oceans or lakes or rivers
or streams. There are a lot of problems that made the animals die in the ocean,
but there are ways to fix these problems. These problems could fix when we
stop fishing and stop putting trash in the ocean.

Natural Resources
Sara Qadi
When one want to fish we search for the fish and this mean that we want
something and we got it. Fishing is a hard way to get the fishes but we should
do whatever to get the fishes. 14 Special animals are in the bottom of the ocean
so we need more materials and more hard work. There is a special gas that is
around the aquatic biomes. Natural gas is colorless, odorless and combustible.15
Another resource is of course water, all the living things and people
want water and we use it in different ways. There are a lot of things in the
water that we use such as fish, salt and others. Freshwater is used every day for
things such as cooking and drinking. Freshwater comes from lakes, rivers and
oceans, and this resource is very important in our life.16 This is the resources
that are in the aquatic biomes.

Climate and Weather

Kareem Hanbali
The weather in water is warmer when it is closer to the equator, and it is
colder when it is closer to the poles. The marine biome has a big influence on
the terrestrial climate.17 It provides rain for crops through evaporation; ocean
currents create massive hurricanes and typhoons. Another role in the weather of
the marine biome is the wind; the wind over the ocean creates large waves.18
The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change predicts a further rise of
between 1.4C and 5.8C by the end of the century. Climate change could
therefore well be the knockout punch for many species which are already under
stress from overfishing and habitat loss.19

Tourist Attraction
Kareem Hanbali
The people that want to go in a vacation to the aquatic should know about
the place, and to know what is fun about the aquatic, and were to go in it, some
people say they want to go there, then they change their minds, because they
dont know what is in the aquatic, so we should write about it and till people
about the aquatic, that is how to get people to the aquatic.
4

The aquatic has lots of things to do in there, like swimming with sea fish
like dolphins, turtles, fish and, wheels, and you can dive in it, and there are a
lot of activities to do in the aquatic, like a safari in the aquatic water, or to go
under water and looking at very beautiful fish, and we can do fishing, and there
are a lot of restaurants that has everything you will like to eat in it, and it do not
cost a lot it is just $2000 which is 8000 shekels.

Plants
Yara Shaheen
There are many plants that live in the kinds of waters the fresh water or
the salt water like, oceans or seas and rivers.20This plant called the aquatic
plant21, the aquatic plants are plants that have adapted to living in aquatic
environments.22 These plants require special adaptations for living submerged
in water, aquatic plants can only grow in water or in soil that is permanently
saturated with water. Thousands of plant species live in freshwater habitats
around the world: along edges, on the surface, or at the bottom of shallow lakes
and pond. One of the largest aquatic plants in the world is the Amazon water
lily; one of the smallest is the minute duckweed. One of the largest aquatic
plants in the world is the Amazon water lily; one of the smallest is the minute
duckweed.23
Most aquatic plants live in freshwaterin lakes, ponds, reservoirs,
canals, or rivers and streams.24
The characteristics of a water environment is that, water is plentiful, at
least during the growing season. PFD (wavelengths of sunlight used for
photosynthesis) is low for submerged leaves, because light penetration through
the water column is very much reduced.
The plant is good in the water because, many small aquatic animals use
plants like duckweed for a home, or for protection from predators, but areas
with more vegetation are likely to have more predators.25 Some other familiar
examples of aquatic plants might include floating heart, water lily, lotus, and
water hyacinth. And the aquatic plant is food for the fishes, that why should
make the amount of the plant the same amount as the fishes. 26Also provide a
fishery with protective cover and life-giving oxygen.
The types of aquatic plants are Algae, Duckweed, Kelp ,Reed , Rush
,Sea grass, Seaweed, Sedge, Watercress ,Water lily Also the Purple Coral,
Giant Plumose Anemone, Red Sea Whip, Green Sea Anemone, Anemone and
Clownfish Sun Coral, Soft Coral, Open Brain Coral, Coral Reef.27
The Aquatic plants are classified into submerged, floating, and emergent
varieties. Submerged plants are rooted on the waters bottom but do not extend
5

all the way to its surface. Floating plants are not rooted and are free to move
about the waters surface Emergent plants are rooted on the waters bottom and
extend to its surface. The most important plant class is the submerged variety
because it provides an abundance of aquatic food on the lakes or streams
bottom. It is also easier to fish than the other two because it produces less plant
clutter and snags.
Plants require sunlight for growth and photosynthesis to occur. Plants
are restricted to waters receiving sunlight. In most waters, a depth of ten to
thirty feet is the limit that sunlight can penetrate. This means that plants are
most abundant in the shallows and decrease in quantity as the water deepens.
Shallow shorelines protected from floods and wave actions favor the
most abundant growths.

Palestine
Yara Shaheen
Palestine is an area in the eastern Mediterranean region between the
Jordan River and the Mediterranean Sea in Asia.
There are many places where the aquatic biomes are in Palestine like the
Dead Sea, Sea of Galilee, Mediterranean Sea, Jordan River, those are where in
all Palestine there is a water, also that mean each one of those rivers or streams
or seas are have their own looks make it difference then other like the living
thing s as animals or plans or natural resources or like what it is made of.28
The Dead Sea's weather is warm and most the time the weather is
warmer more than the sea get cold sunny skies and dry air. The Dead Sea is a
salt lake bordered by Jordan to the east and Palestine and the West Bank to the
west. Its surface and shores are 429 meters 1,407 ft. below sea level, and it is
the lowest tearthelevation on land. It is called the death sea because there is no
any living things live there except small amount of plants. It is 9.6 times as
salty as the ocean, so in the Dead sea the amount of water less than the amount
of the salt so that mean the amount of salt less have the amount of the salt in
this sea. Also that there is no any animals live there but there is some plants
live inside it and for the nature resources the salt is one of the important nature
resource. Dead Sea water has a density of 1.24 kg/liter, which makes
swimming similar to floating.29
Excerpts about aquatic locations in Palestine
The Sea of Galilee is the largest freshwater lake in Palestine, and it is
approximately 53 km33 mi in circumference, about 21 km 13 mi long, and
13 km 8.1 mi wide, it is the lowest freshwater lake on Earth and the second6

lowest lake overall after the Dead Sea, a saltwater lake. The Sea of Galilee is
situated in northeast Palestine, and there is a plant and animals live there the
flora include various reeds along most of the shoreline as well as phytoplankton
and Fauna include zooplankton, benthos and a number of fish species. 30
Jordan River is the article is about the river in West Asia and 251kilometre 156 mi-long river in West Asia flowing to the Dead Sea, The waters
of the Jordan River are the second largest water resource for Palestine and The
streams coming together to create the River Jordan in its upper basin are, west
to east and there is not too much animals live there inside it, but there is also
not much plant because this river is a fresh water.
Mediterranean Sea is a sea connected to the Atlantic Ocean surrounded
by the Mediterranean region and almost completely enclosed by land: on the
north by Southern Europe and Anatolia, on the south by North Africa, and on
the east by the Levant. The sea is sometimes considered a part of the Atlantic
Ocean, although it is usually identified as a separate body of water. The name
Mediterranean is derived from the Latin Mediterranean, meaning "inland" or
"in the middle of the land" from middle, "middle" and terra, "land".
It covers an approximate area of 2.5 million km2 965,000 sq. mi. The
Mediterranean Sea has an average depth of 1,500 m. The countries with
coastlines on the Mediterranean Sea are Albania, Algeria, Bosnia-Herzegovina,
Croatia, Cyprus, Egypt, France, Greece, Palestine, Italy, Lebanon, Libya,
Malta, Morocco, Monaco, Montenegro, Northern Cyprus (recognized only by
Turkey), Palestine, Slovenia, Spain, Syria, Turkey, and Tunisia. In addition,
Gibraltar and Akrotiri and Dhekelia are British Overseas Territories with
coastlines on the sea.
From those living things as animals the Coral Reef Fish, Fish colorful
kinds, Sponges, sea, Sea Turtles, and seals, and from the plants are the Coral
reefs, and the green roots.
The problem that get into the sea is that because of the Sea level rise and
the pollution also the Shipping, Tourism ,Overfishing, Hydroponics are given
the sea very bad water and look also biodiversity, those are the problem that
this sea have.

CONCLUSION
Sara Qadi
In this paper it mentioned that it is an important biome that animals live
in it and in the vicinity of the oceans the people live on it. Also, there are a lot
of seas, ocean. that are in the Aquatic biome that is interesting in the world.
This is the aquatic biome and this is what in it and what around it.
