Go to www.careercruising.com
Username: Tweedsmuir
Password: Careers

2)

From the button bar at the top of the page, select PLAN then CREATE A
NEW PLAN enter in the required information then click on CREATE PLAN.

3)

From the button bar at the top of the page select MATCHMAKER to begin
questions. You will be asked your name again then click START A NEW
CAREER MATCHMAKER SESSION.

Begin to answer the questions, there are 4 groups of questions. Group 1 is 39


questions, Group 2 is 55 questions, Group 3 is out of 7 questions, and Group 4
is out of 15 questions. After each group of questions, click SAVE TO MY
PLAN then click GO TO CAREER MATCH MAKER then click ANSWER MORE
QUESTIONS TO IMPROVE MY RESULTS.

Job Description: A police detective is a law enforcement official who
investigates serious crimes and the murder scene of a citizen. They help gather
evidences, witnesses, potential suspects and then attempts to create a case that
can be prosecuted by a district attorneys office. Police detectives do engage in field
work, which is mostly investigating in the crime scene. When major crime cases are
reported, police detectives are to gather evidences and information and hand it
over to the forensic investigators while they continue to gather witnesses, potential
suspects and the murderers motive

refers to BC or Canada) In BC about 20 out of 1200 are hired each year.
7. Employment prospects:The job; Police Detective is a growing career because
every year many officers are getting promoted to higher ranks and new officers and
getting hired.

Also, to become a police detective or you need an experience of minimum 2 to 5
years as a police officer of a lower rank. You also need a clean background of past
history of theft, embezzlement, cheating or fraud.
10. Disadvantages of Occupation: The disadvantages of being part of the police
enforcement in general is that danger is everywhere. Your life will be at risk any
time youre out in the field. Your sleeping schedule for your beauty sleep wont be
available because of crazy hours anddifferentshifts. More importantly, training will
be insanely mentally, and physically painful. If you cant get through that training
program, you will not meet the expectations to become a police officer
11. Describe how your values, skills and interests relate to this career option
Im a very adventurous girl who likes to do things normal girls dont like to do. Im
very energetic and love mystery. Im very daring and ever since I was little Ive
always wanted to become a police officer but now that Im capable of knowing what
I want to do after high school, I think police detective fits me well.
12. What courses and grades are needed to enter this Occupation?
What you need is a minimum of a high school diploma and you have to attend the
police training academy. Some choose to complete degree programs in law
enforcement or criminal justice to help the advance into higher ranking further on in
their training.

Working conditions: It all depends on the crime and the crime scene. They
can either work in offices filing report searching the web while on the other hand
they can go out or look for more evidence with the forensic investigators.

Typical hours of work: Depends on what time you work and your shift but
shifts are close to 11-12 hours.

Describe what has influenced your choice of this occupation: Ever since I was
young Ive felt like this is what truly got to me. Also, I have a lot of people around
me who are part of the RCMP so some of the influences come from them.

What are the Future Trends of this occupation:It is said on website CVTips that
job openings for police officers will increase between 7 and 13% between 2008 and
2018.

1. Even though being a police officer is considered cool and theyre protecting the
city or country, it can be a dangerous job that you may have to risk your life for.

Salary Range: $43,605 - $64,606 a year but it will depend on how popular
you are and who your agency and boss is and lastly depends on how many episodes
you have released. Usually its $45.39 per hour. It will all depend on what category
you go into.

Job Description: Actor or actresses are people who play roles or characters in
movies and dramas and they inform it for the audience to see and feel what theyre
trying to express.

7. Employment prospects: That more and more advanced technology will be made
so most likely Photoshop and maybe higher quality of dramas or movies will be
made.

to memorize lines to act,
10. Disadvantages of Occupation: its a hunger job. The competition is very high.
May not be able to land a role. You will also most likely to be very busy and wont
have a lot of time for yourself.

think I am very skilled in art and love to express myself with acting and every time I
watch a new drama or a movie the actors and actresses playing the role of different
character inspire me to try becoming like an actress that people love to watch.
12. What courses and grades are needed to enter this Occupation? No courses are
needed and no education are required some take acting classes and extra training
to audition for new agencies but no education is mandatory.

Working conditions: you will have to work on set for a very long time and your
schedule will be chaotic.

Typical hours of work: depends on your schedule but if you have a role in a hit
drama, most likely you will be very busy on set.

Describe what has influenced your choice of this occupation: Ever since I was
a kid Ive always wanted to become an actress and was interested in acting and
learning new experiences from older and more experienced actors and actresses.

What are the Future Trends of this occupation? It is a growing job because
more and more rookie actors and actress are landing new roles, hitting the top and
also some will retire due to public or personal reasons.

1. Some agencies are only looking for sexual abuse and trying to use the actors and
actresses for the money and threatening them with fame.

suicide. Most suicides are led by actresses due to sexual harassment from higher
positions and their agencies.

for a 6 month program 3 days a week, $600 for textbooks, and $1700 for your
professional cutting kit.

Salary Range: An average of $23,140 a year but it will all depend on who and
where you are cutting their hairs.

Job Description: a hair dresser has to be skilled with their hands and they
have the responsibility to maintain the hair and style of the customers
appearances. You will need a lot of practice because it will be a onetime shot.

their graduation in the program in BC.

job keeping them occupied.
10. Disadvantages of Occupation: its a onetime chance so if you cut it wrong or
not the way the customers will want then they will leave a bad reputation on you
and your store and you may lose some customers.
11. Describe how your values, skills and interests relate to this career option: I
have been very skilled when it comes to handling things with my hands so people
have told me being a hair dresser would be a nice choice of option. Also my mother
is a hair dresser herself so ever since I was little Ive learnt and saw lots of what she
has done and given to the customers.
12. What courses and grades are needed to enter this Occupation? You will need
a certificate in cosmetology. You may drop out of high school, graduate high school,
go to training academy, get a degree in criminology but as long as you have that
certificate you can become a hair dresser.

Working conditions: you may have to deal with a lot of picky customers and
sometimes rude customers. In the end you will have to put up with and give it your
best shot.

Typical hours of work: depending on your shift, its mostly a full day job.
Around 10-12 hours of work but after that another extra couple hours for cleaning.

Describe what has influenced your choice of this occupation: my mother is a
hair dresser and ever since I was little she would take me to her shop and I would
always be there helping her with her customers when I wasnt really even helping
that much but I remember Ive had a lot of fun and I think with the experiences I
have and some help with my mom hair dresser isnt really bad of an option. In fact I
actually love styling and cutting other peoples hair.

What are the Future Trends of this occupation: hair dresser is growing job
because more and more people who are interested in cosmetics will start advancing
and putting up their own stores. So it will be more of a competition and definitely a
growing job
