Senior Project Reflection

Your written reflection will be an in-depth looking back
At the entire sr. project experience. As you self-reflect, be sure to address whatever questions
below apply to you and your project. All seniors should address at least questions #1, #5, #6, #8
and #11. NOTE: These will be areas you will also want to address in your presentation.

1.What was the best and worst experience of the entire process?

The best experience I had while working on this project was that I got to learn

about the CT Scan Machines. The worst experience I had was having to drive far and
sometimes I would be stuck in traffic.
2. How has the experience changed you? (Skills, attitudes, habits, resources, capabilities,
poise, presentation, etc.)

This experience has given me knowledge about CT Scan and the process of

getting one. This changed me a bit because it made me consider becoming a

radiographer.
3. What would you change if you could do it again?

I would probably try to job shadow during a break such as winter break.

4. What advice do you have for next years seniors?

Pick a senior project with a topic that you are very interested in.

5. What did you learn along the way which was unexpected and not anticipated?

I thought that I would always get there in time, but I was late twice because I got

stuck in traffic. I learned I should leave earlier to go to the hospital and make sure I
should be there around 15-30 min before I am suppose to start job shadowing.
6. How did completing the Senior Project allow you to see things in more depth? Were you
surprised by the complexity of your topic once you began your research and fieldwork project?
How did you see other students and teacher in a different light? In what ways did you
understand and perceive a broader picture of the educational process?

Completing this project allowed me to see CT Scans more in depth. I actually

know now that steps you need to take before receiving a CT Scan and also using a CT
Scan machine. No, while I was researching this I knew it was complex but I was not
surprised. I knew it was complex because I knew already that different people get CT
Scans for different reason and sometimes the procedure will be different. I saw teachers
and students in a different light by being more social to them, since I talked to so many
people in the hospital. I understood the educational process in a more broader picture
because I got to do a project that I was really interested in.
7. In what ways has the Senior Project changed your concept of yourself? Are you more
confident of your abilities? Are you more focused and directed? Are you more willing to take a
risk? In what ways has it perhaps raised more questions than given answers?

The Senior project made me gain more knowledge about working in a hospital. I

am more confident of my abilities because now I know more about CT Scans and what it
is like to be a radiographer. I am now more focused. No, I am not more willing to take a
risk. It raised more questions because everybody is different and if you're in a hospital
its really important to know. Sometimes there would be a patient with a certain condition
and I wouldnt know what to do if I was the nurse, but then I was able to learn
8. Which aspect of the Senior Project stretched you the most? How did you react to this
challenge? How did you feel during the learning stretch? How do you feel not that it is over?

Having to do the research paper. I reacted to this challenge by simply getting

more sources and learning more. I was very frustrated during this learning sketch. It
feels good know that it is over
9. How did working through the Senior Project process bring the senior class closer together?

It brought the senior class together because we got learn more about what we're

interested in and we got to talk about it with our fellow classmates.

10. How has this experience influenced your future planning in terms of work, education, or the
development of personal interests?

This experience has influenced me in my future planning in terms of education

because it makes me want to become a nurse. This experience has influenced my future
planning in terms of work because it makes me want to become a radiographer.
11. How has completing the Senior Project affected the way you approach work, dealing with
people, or presenting yourself publicly?

Completing the senior project has affected me because it taught me how to deal

with people and it helped me become more social because of everyone I talked to in the
hospital.
12. What humorous incident happened during the process? Was it funny when it occurred or
only in retrospect?
A humorous incident that happened was that I accidently went to the wrong side
of the hospital and it took me a while to figure it out. It was funny when it occurred
because even my mentor, the person I was going to job shadow, was making fun of me.
