Part 2
Go to the know yourself section and take ALL the self-assessment quizzes. It is
important to do all the quizzes to get a full picture of your interests and a more
accurate assessment of your interests.
Answer all the questions to the best of your ability giving thought to your own
personal values and ideas.
When you have completed all the tests you will be able to go to the my career plan
section and see what occupations have been recommended for you. You can click

12. What courses and grades are needed to enter this Occupation?
Need a bachelors of science with prerequisite course that include chemistry,biology
an d physics. Then a minium of a 3.6 to get in to medical school where you take 2
years of in class education in sciences sciences, such as anatomy, pathology,
pharmacology and biochemistry, followed by two years of clinical rotations in
different areas of medicine, such as pediatrics, psychiatry, surgery and internal
medicine. After 4 years of residency and then a 1-2 year fellowship.

Working conditions: Working with machine which create exposure to
radiation. Interact with many people being not just patients but nurses and doctors.
Also usually radiologist are hired full time 5 days a week and depending on being on
call their hours can extend by several hours.

imaging technology such as to the mammography and radiation dose monitoring
seems to becoming a trend. Adding noise less MRIs and OLED displays which are

10. Disadvantages of Occupation:__The long shifts that can last from8-12 hours
which rotate but then also being on call while supposedly being off is one big
disadvantage. Also emotional and mental fatigue settles in from the job can easily
create depression. The lwgal risks you can encounter are quite to the extent where
if you give the wrong dosage you can face legal ramifications. One big disadvantage
is being exposed to very ill people whom you are responsible for taking care of
which is a major health risk

My passion for helping others and being able to understand what they need,
want and what is bedt for their care. By putting them infront of my self and focused
on caring for them. My ability to interact with patients is exquistict.Also being able
to communicate with them and my interest in the medical field intrigues me to
become a nurse

Constantly on call and working dreadful long hours and the exposure to all
diseases are quite dangerous for the worker since being care takers of those
patients. Also cleaning up after patients and having the abilitly to tolerate it.

want to help others but this job would a closer reach to the patient

What are the Future Trends of this occupation:_The future trends upcoming is
the use of electronic health records keeping it easier to find patients files other than
sorting through tons of files filled with paper.Also lifts and smart beds are looking to
become bigger which help with a safer routine and making everything just more
effiecient. Patients and staff identification systems are being implementing to help

are to help identify both patients and professionals
