TOWER BUILDING COMPETITION

1. The competition is open to all schools with a Civil Engineering Program.
2. A team shall consist of not more than 4 members per student chapter. School ID of
team members must be presented. School ID of team members must be worn during the
duration of the competition.
3. Registration fee of PhP 150.00 shall be charged per team. Submit the entry form via
email at picehau1516@gmail.com.
4. MECHANICS OF THE COMPETITION
4.1 Each team will be given 20 mins of planning and 20 mins of constructing the
tower, on the spot, at the pre-designated venue and date.
4.2 Materials to be used will be announced and supplied by the PICE-HAUSC at
the start of the competition.
4.3 The Tower will have a maximum base dimension of 2 ft x 2 ft
4.4 The team with the highest standing tower 2 minutes after construction period
will be declared as the winning team
4.5 Failure to comply with these standards will yield 5 cm deduction per violation to
the total height of the teams tower
5. Cash prize of PhP 1,500.00 will be given to the winning team.
6. The decision of the Board of Judges shall be final.

BRIDGE BUILDING COMPETITION

1. The competition is open to all schools with a Civil Engineering Program.
2. A team shall consist of not more than 5 members per student chapter. School ID of
team members must be presented. School ID of team members must be worn during the
duration of the competition.
3. Registration fee of PhP 200.00 shall be charged per team. Submit the entry form via
email at picehau1516@gmail.com.
4. MECHANICS OF THE COMPETITION
4.1 The team shall construct the bridge within three (3) hours, on the spot, at the
pre-designated venue and date.
4.2 Materials to be used will be announced and supplied by the PICE-HAUSC at
the start of the competition.
4.3 All specific details will be announced during the competition proper. The main
criterion of selecting the winner is the strength-to-weight ratio.
4.4 Once the bridge has been submitted for testing, nobody is allowed to move
nor alter any part. Only two members of the team shall be allowed to assist the
judges during the testing.
5. Cash prize of PhP 2,000.00 will be given to the winning team.
6. The decision of the Board of Judges shall be final.

ENTRY FORMS
For all participating universities/colleges, the fully accomplished registration forms shall
be sent to the e-mail address of PICE-HAUSC at picehau1516@gmail.com.
All of the participating schools may submit the accomplished forms starting February
20, 2016 (Saturday).
The online submission of forms will end on February 26, 2016 (Friday) until 9:00pm.
Names not included in the list cannot compete during the day of competition.
